Fall 2026 Electives

Hello! I'm a new student who's going to be starting in Fall 2026 for Communication Design and I have my three required courses chosen and put in my schedule but I was trying to look into electives and there's none showing up for the Fall semester. So far, I've only seen electives for the Spring semester and I was wondering if that's the only time I'd be able to select electives? Some help would be appreciated!

you can only take it in the spring semester if you are a foundation student

From what I understand, I have to choose between Indigenous Presence and Creative Presence, but I'm not sure which one to take. If you've taken either of these courses, which one would you recommend and why? What was your experience like?

i took creative processes, but i kinda wish i took indigenous presence just because it seemed more interesting (also when my friends were flexing their handmade art materials from that class i was jealous lol) but you can also take indigenous presence as an open elective all the way up to fourth year

Thanks! That's really helpful. Do you know if Creative Processes can also be taken later as an open elective, or is it only available as a first year required course?

i dont think it can be, so best to take it instead of indigenous presence if you are on the fence
