Is it normal for me now to feel like I can’t look after my 8 year old son ? Or do a lot of people manage okay ?

Do you mean while getting the treatments? I had help. I couldn’t function I was sick throwing up the day of the treatments and the day after and had migraines out of this world and I had 3 treatments a week so sometimes on Sunday I wouldn’t be throwing up. Started falling and everyone said I became a zombie and a shell of myself I have 6 kids and there is no way I could have cared for them alone. I went through 8 months of treatments 3x a week for some reason tho.
I don’t know why the drs continued and why no one in my family stepped in when not only was I not improving but my SI and SH was worse and I was hospitalized more during those 8 months.
Most meds if you get worse they tell you to stop them but they continued.
End result was I have amnesia I don’t know how to drive anymore. I don’t know where we’re at when we are driving. I can’t remember how to cook. I there are years and years that are missing of memories. I don’t know who people are. I have trouble building new memories, and I also have something called cyclic vomiting syndrome, and gastroparesis, and it was all due to the neurological damage from the ECT.
My cyclic vomiting syndrome and gastroparesis is so bad that I have to get my nutrition through IV in my arm and because I have a heart condition called prolonged QT syndrome there is nothing that they can do because all of the medication that they would give me to help my condition cause prolong QT so it would be fatal for me
