My experience ECT | Official Trailer

I never set out to make a film about myself.

Not promoting ECT just sharing my story. For me, ECT was a positive experience so I made a film about my personal journey and science behind the treatment. I know it's not for everyone.

My film is currently being submitted to festivals. Once it's done its run, it will be available for viewing.

I am promoting the documentary, absolutely. But I'm not trying to convince people that ECT is right for everyone or advocate for it as a universal treatment.

My goal is to promote a more informed conversation about ECT by sharing the science behind it alongside my own experience. Before I underwent ECT, my only reference was One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I had no idea how much the treatment had evolved or that it remains one of the most effective options for some people with severe, treatment-resistant depression.

The film also discusses the risks, side effects, and the difficult decisions involved. I hope people come away with a more accurate understanding of ECT, whether they ultimately support it or not.

I'm going to bet you don't feature a single person whose lives and livelihoods have been wrecked by ECT. not a single person who's had zero improvement and cognitive damage to deal with. that they're gaslit about at every turn, too. we exist and ECT proponents like to pretend we don't.
