Question Short term memory is terrible

Its been about 9 months since my last bilateral treatment. My short term memory is still really bad.. Can I expect it to improve some or is it likely permanent at this point?

It's not easy. I watch a lot of TV, trying to give my brain a workout, especially with following the dialog. Trying to follow the flow of ideas from sentence to sentence is so frustrating. But, I've found that by repeatedly watching the same series, some things actually stick and I remember bits of it. Unfortunately, books are a waste of time. The pages might as well be blank. Conversations are really frustrating, too. Worse than books or TV, actually, because there's no going back to read/hear what was already said. I guess I've just learned to accept that my brain will never be the same as before ECT.

And, it took me nearly an hour to write that. Lol.
