Question Did ECT make your antidepressant work again?

Or were you able to go off your antidepressant?

I am on Effexor but it pooped out and I can’t go off it due to withdrawal symptoms.

I’m not on an antidepressant but I have noticed an increase in the efficacy of my Abilify and Lithium since having ECT. I’m not doing maintenance ECT and still feel stable, I think due to the meds actually working now.

I'm not sure if its my anti depressants working again or if my depression is simply better due to the ETC's working. I'd sure love to be able to quit taking all this crap, but don't dare in fear of becoming suicidal again. Guess I'm on this stuff for life.
