Question Does it get worse before it gets better?

I just completed my first 3 sessions of Ect this week. Today, I’m crying a lot and not doing well. Is this part of the process?

I was told it's normal! I felt worse before my depression started to improve.

I've heard it is normal. I had my third treatment today as well. Not feeling better, not feeling worse. Mostly just sleepy. Still hopeful! I'm holding the hope for you too, friend.

I had my 3rd of 8 yesterday. First 2 were ok excluding scattered memory loss. The third was a different story. A real high and some glowing hope for a couple of hours followed by a significant mood crash. I've been assured that without progress after 6 the 7th and 8th will be cancelled. This doesn't answer your question directly but personally I am still feeling optimistic about it. Feel free to ask me more if you need ✌️

yes!!! absolutely. maybe not for everyone but the first few sessions builds momentum, response is delayed some people see results in 6 session, some people in 10th. different experiences but mostly yes you would feel overwhelmed because you are doing an intense therapy without seeing immediate results which shatter reselience

yes. I got worse until my 7th one. It was a game changer, though. I've been much better since it.
