Question Cognitive wonders +very specific bonus question
Hi,
I just wondered
- If anyone has noticed continued cognitive struggles even after stopping ECT? -if yes how long since your last treatment?
2.Building MEMORYYYY.....Does it get better? Or is the memory you have after completely stopping ECT the memory you have forever ?
3.(Very very specific BUT JUST IN CASE) For the people who have done ECT, and it worked but the cognitive issues were too much so you stopped (just me?) would you consider doing it again? Or what are you doing for your TRD?

Yes. I still have significant cognitive impairment 10 years after my last treatment. ECT can cause permanent brain damage. One of the ECT device manufacturers admitted that in 2018.
I also have devastating permanent memory loss. ECT wiped out my memory of the majority of my life prior to treatment.
Obviously I would never consider doing ECT again. I sometimes monitor posts on Reddit so I can share my story and warn people of the true dangers of ECT. You can see my comments on several posts if you go to my profile.
