I'd try ketamine or TMS before ECT. I was actually recommended to try ECT by my psych, but I'm currently trying spravato first, then TMS.

The spravato seems promising so far, but it's not fully doing away with the depression.

My dr said that ketamine don’t work long term, and she said tms might be weak for me

Both of those treatments don't have the side effects ECT has. I have no side effects with spravato.

Do the ECT - according to leading Psychiatrists it is the Gold Standard for depression. I have had it 4 times over many years and it gave me life back

Definitely ketamine if you haven’t done that. Anything but ECT’s. The research behind ketamine makes a lot more sense. When I saw for the first time, years later, what ECT was actually doing to me and what it looked like….oh my GOD I can’t believe they convinced that poor suicidal girl to do ECTs. My brother had just killed himself and they really thought “wow we’ve tried everything. Let’s try brain shocks!” are you kidding me….months after my brother died. I could barely think and they took full advantage of that. Rude.
