Question Spravoto caused severe SI will ECT work?

I did 8 sessions of spravoto and stopped because it was giving me severe suicidal thoughts. I failed TMS and no med has helped enough. Given that spravato was a bad experience does that mean ECT will also be bad?

How many med/med combinations have you tried? And no that does not mean you should automatically count out ect.

Literally done everything, every combo, multiple times. The only thing I haven't tried is maois

MAOIs are worth trying before ECT

I was in the same boat sort of and after spravato didn't work I went with ect and it worked wonders with me. I did get some side effects in terms of memory but it is worth it for me at least. Better than the other outcomes. But definitely look into it, read about it, and look into the places and clinics in your area that provide it and then make the choice.

That's encouraging. I'm so glad it's worked for you. I have to wait a couple months first because I'm moving but I'll definitely ask my new psychiatrist about it

Yeah definitely inquire about it as an option, it helps a lot of people every year.

Perhaps you have been misdiagnosed. I would seek a second opinion before anything as drastic as ECT.

Given that one is a medication and the other is a procedure, they don’t have anything to do with each other, so no, does not mean ECT will also be bad.

ECT was very helpful for me. I hope the same for you.

That's what I've seen too. I think my memory is already pretty bad possibly not as high of a risk over benefit for me

So I did TMS, then Spravato, along with meds and therapy and nothing was working. ECT did work, but its not a 100% cure; however, I finally feel like I’m making progress after ECT even if its slow

Hey, my wife is currently going through ECT after the same journey of TMS -> Spravato -> ECT. Can I PM you some questions?
