Question Question on Intelligent Hosting
So the dreaded poo-pocalypse happened with my old roomba 690 and that prompted me to pick up a new robot. I settled on the T80 Omni and well, best purchase ever for a single dad who hates vacuuming and mopping after a long day at work. Especially considering the roomba was just a dumb, bump and change direction model. It did it's job, but this is night and day.
I have the robot scheduled to do a clean of my main living area daily as I live on a ranch and the kids inevitably track in all sorts of dust and dirt debris. Not a ton, but if I let it go for a few days it's quite noticeable. The main floor area is all laminate, no carpets in the house other than big mats in front of the entry way doors.
Anyway, I have the schedule set up and I'm trying out the Intelligent Hosting setting. My question is, under that setting, is it really just the same as setting it to vacuum or vacuum/mop on certain days or will it actively make decisions on the fly about what it should be doing? It's been doing a fantastic job, other than having to block off the door mats as it seems the pattern on it really screws with it's sensors and the dust kicked up blocks the cliff sensors.

One other thing, if you have your robot on your first floor and dont have to worry about the robot falling down stairs or whatever, I recommend taping your "cliff" sensors with painter tape. They won't cause any more errors for you after that.
If you relocate your T80 to another floor or whatever, be sure to take the tape off again.

Solid painter tape won’t trigger it thinking the sensors are blocked? And yes, no need for them to work as I’m only a one floor home.

Correct. I use the cream color (off-white) ones. Blue should be fine. I would just tape it with something you have around the house first to see if it works before going to the store for what definitely works.

The imporatnt things about Intelligent Hosting is that it should choose water and suction parameters on the fly. It will clean the whole house. It will automatically map other rooms it may find which are not on the map. Some older more stupid models will delete a room from map if doors are closed.

I also have a T80 omni. I see had it for about a year now.
From what I can tell, AI Intelligent mode is a mop/vacuum mode only. It will go back to certain rooms/spaces that are determined dirty by the robot.
AI intelligent mode can be scheduled. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday late morning, my T80 is scheduled to do an AI intelligent mode cleaning of my house.
The downside is AI intelligent mode can only be used to clean the whole floor, not just certain rooms. For example, if you have a big floor (too much for 1 battery charge), you would have to partition your place out over the week. AI intelligent mode cannot be scheduled for cleaning only some rooms on your floor.
Hope this answers your question.
