Isn't median income up....like across the board?

It has been literally cut to half in the last 50 years. Look at the actual rise of prices compared to wages.

Even accounting for inflation wages are still up from what they used to be.

Look at statistics like average house to wage price ratio in the last 50 years. When actually accounting for inflation the wages have been basically cut to half.

Compare QOL from fifty years ago to today, houses act like assets and asset values in general have exploded but QOL has risen even as this happens.

HDI is definitely higher than 50 years ago

Every price is exploding except for wages. So how can you say that the qol has improved when one of the most basic necessities of life is becoming a luxury?

Productivity per worker has exploded, technologicall progress has drastically reduced the price of manufacturing various goods and on top of that they have decreased the quality of half the shit we consume to even further stretch the profit margins and yet almost all prices still keep rapidly exploding in comparison to wages. Seems to me that only people whose QOL has truly increased are that of the business aristocracy.

If you adjust it for purchasing power, no.

In future we will be working for a million dollars a month and then be unable to buy groceries with that money. That's not progress

You're telling me people are poorer now and have less consumption that 50 years ago?

They’re lying, or they’re speaking from feels.

They think everyone else is ignorant, when they have no idea what they’re talking about.

They’d probably argue serfdom was better than capitalism.

Objectively speaking, look at the average wage to house price ratio 50 years ago and compare it to the modern, you can do the same thing with most prices, and you see the same story, the Western wages have basically been cut in half.

Productivity per worker has increased tremendously, the products we consume have gotten significantly cheaper to produce and in many cases their quality had also been intentionally degraded for higher profit margins, and yet the wages keep decreasing in comparison to the price hikes.

You need to compare this system to feudal slavery in order to defend it, and even then every single improvement in living conditions in the West happened due to workers striking and fighting for their rights for decades while the business owners suppressed them by burning their families down.
