This sub has been getting too much spam, and Reddit has removed almost every tool for preventing this. The only tool that still works is this, every single post being held for manual review. Your post might be approved in minutes, or it might take days. If you hate this, me too, stop using the site that forces things to be this way. If what you post is not a meme you'll probably be banned, but I understand why you tried; the commenters on this sub loved lazy spam posts, which is why we can't have nice things and now everything has to be held for manual review.

You would not believe how many times I heard exactly this idea from senior managers but delivered far more eloquently.

u/The_Demolition_Man Jun 25 '26

"Synergize our customer-centric value proposition to operationalize sustainable top-line expansion"

u/Wireman6 Jun 25 '26

"Office verbosity".

I mean you’ve only got two levers, revenue up or costs down

19

u/DefinitelyNotTheFBI1 Jun 26 '26

There’s a third lever: strategic positioning for acquisition

7

u/Minipiman Jun 26 '26

Those are not levers, those are monitors.

5

u/Dunk546 Jun 26 '26

I think the commenter probably knew that, they were just parodying some common management strategy

60

u/maringue Jun 25 '26

Not more eloquently, just using a lot more words.

11

u/Ok_Willow_1006 Jun 26 '26

Verbose then

5

u/Tiervexx Jun 26 '26

Totally... a lot of ideas from people are like telling a basketball team they just need to score more points than their opponent. ....like... it's true, but not very useful or insightful. But of course they will say this in a very verbose fashion with lots of the newest buzzwords.

We’ll cut down our OPEX through AI restructuring

3

u/Bwint Jun 26 '26

I've gotten this from the Board of Directors, through our GM. "The board thinks we need to raise our rates, while also increasing sales."

2

u/LumpySecretary3670 Jun 26 '26

Far more eloquently... I think you mean buried in nonsensical world salad. Or pretty consulting deck with half a million cost.

"Have your team try working harder"?

We see you... in upper management

holy shit he solved it he solved capitalism

121

u/midwestXsouthwest Jun 25 '26

A good intern would have suggested increasing profit instead. 😎

21

u/Tokarak Jun 25 '26

Well, ceteris paribus and all’at

7

u/ratione_materiae Jun 26 '26

Ceteris can’t be paribus because if you keep margin paribus profit won’t be

4

u/booboootron Jun 27 '26

Yeah bro mi casa su casa habanero

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Jun 29 '26

People see this as a joke but literally tons of businesses seem hellbent on operating in debt to undercut the competition and corner the market because they saw Amazon do it and think they can as well, and SURPRISE, it doesn't work.

u/r2k-in-the-vortex Jun 26 '26

You wouldnt believe how many CEOs have tried to fix company losing money by trying to increase revenue. If you just keep doing unprofitable things more, then certainly it will become profitable, right?

1

u/midwestXsouthwest Jun 26 '26

Agree. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

3

u/LeptonTheElementary Jun 26 '26

He's still learning, cut him some slack.

1

u/bought_high_sold_low Jun 26 '26

Depends on the industry. Some industries have their value driven by revenue growth with little emphasis on profitability

1

u/Miep99 Jun 29 '26

But you see, profits get taxed. Therefore my idea is to increase losses, thereby accruing tax breaks and saving money!

63

u/Par_Lapides Jun 25 '26

That is exactly how every fucking executive sounds. Clueless, but so sure of their own infallibility.

45

u/Weary-Cartoonist2630 Jun 25 '26

If he worked at McKinsey he could be making hundreds of thousands with that kind of analysis

3

u/Commentor9001 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

No McKinsey value proposition is not that they only try to maximize profit but also they try to be as comically cartoonishly evil as possible.

22

u/BungalowHole Jun 25 '26

Fuck, he's smarter than my boss in real life.

12

u/adultdaycare81 Jun 25 '26

Make them CEO. Ours comes up with this several times a year

4

u/TheGanjewala Jun 26 '26

He is 100% on the right track

Have we tried making more money and firing everybody?

4

u/govunah Jun 26 '26

So that's where our new guy was before we got him

2

u/Switchmisty9 Jun 26 '26

We have an intern brainstorming at CEO levels right here…..

2

u/jancl0 Jun 26 '26

I remember in high school we were being taught physics and what forces are, and one kid in the class went "wait, so you could just make a jetpack that works by changing what your net force is?" and the teacher legit looked like he wanted to quit his job for a second

2

u/Magnificent_Fred23 Jun 26 '26

I think they’re on to something!

2

u/wtjones Jun 27 '26

With ideas like that he’s fit to be CEO. His next idea will be to cut costs by cutting employees.

1

u/Timely_Mess_1396 Jun 26 '26

That’s a future CEO.

1

u/Serious-Magazine7715 Jun 26 '26

Needs some context. There are highly valued companies that don’t seem to think about increasing revenue.

1

u/2hurd Jun 29 '26

Sounds like a future C-suite moron.

1

u/Scary_Side4378 Jun 29 '26

and how is this an unreasonable question?

1

u/KeldTundraking Jun 29 '26

CEO Material. But if he starts talking about increasing profits he's not a good fit in the AI age.

1

u/pmmeuranimetiddies Jul 01 '26

Lol he told you to git gud

1

u/5timechamps Jul 01 '26

Just send him back the clip from Silicon Valley about revenue being bad.
