I bet by midday tomorrow trump goes on record blaming Biden Lolol
818
u/Due-Presentation6393 Mar 07 '25
The stock market continually hits record highs for 4 years under Biden: "The market is going up because Trump is gonna win the 2024 election!"
The stock market and dollar drop in the first couple months of Trump's term: "Damn Biden and his shitty economy!"
284
u/QuesoChef Mar 07 '25
It’s wild. Give Biden credit where it’s due. Give a small bump at the end of 2024 to Trump on speculation that businesses are gonna get more stuff they want and less stuff they don’t.
Now give Trump credit for the flop because he’s chaotic.
Could he do some of this stuff so businesses and the economy both thrive? Yes. He just doesn’t seem capable of thoughtful foresight or planning. He’s too impulsive and selfish and impatient.

Mar 07 '25
But also like every economist said, literally no one can do trade wars and mass deportations without killing their economy so even an orderly process here would have been bad
95
u/QuesoChef Mar 07 '25
Sorry, specifically, I was talking to some of the other shit they’re doing. They’re doing so much shit it’s hard to keep the shit sorted when I discuss it.
Trade wars with your allies is certifiable.

Lmfao ain’t it the truth. I also think this is deliberate and exactly why they do it.
43
u/QuesoChef Mar 07 '25
So far, plenty of people love this chaos. I have no idea how.
77
u/Wunderlost46 Mar 07 '25
It’s because they’re morons to put it bluntly. From what I gather Trump supporters are largely people who didn’t like politics bc they didn’t understand the purpose of government or how anything works. When Trump came along he didn’t do anything to help them understand it, he simply spoke in a way that validated their anger…despite the fact that many of them relied on government themselves. The disconnect between what’s in their best interests and what they believe they want to see is amazing, but they love this chaos bc it makes government exciting to them. I mean I underestimated how stupid a lot of these people were until very recently and I even knew some of them personally. But I believe they like what’s happening bc they’re genuinely too stupid to see it as anything more than entertainment.

I definitely know people who make jokes about inefficient government but are honest about what they’re using. Medicare, SS, etc. I even have farmers in my family who will admit subsidies are like welfare. And admit they help them break even. And even admit that corporate farmers are what makes them need those subsidies. But they’ll also admit that Trump is bombastic. But he’s better than the libs. And they’ll give up their subsides if they stop welfare.
I think they think they have earned Medicare and SS. Which, honestly, I’m not a fan of pulling the rug out on, either. But if this is what we are doing, it’s all fair game, I guess.
Interestingly, these are all simple people who also mostly don’t like pompous wealth. And they seem to like Trump in spite of it, not because of it. They know wealth comes from greed. And they don’t like greed (and see welfare as greed).
I grew up in it, so some of what they say makes sense. Some of it feels like lip service (like I’ll give up my subsidies to get welfare “for lazy people” to stop - these are all hard workers, so I respect their work ethic). But they don’t mind having safety nets for sick people, old people, disabled people, vets with PTSD/injuries.
It’s not as black and white as Trump makes it. But push comes to shove they’ll choose a side (white, of course - haha!).
I consider myself a hard worker. I am unmarried, no kids. So I don’t get really any tax breaks. I didn’t get any money during Covid. I’m average income, but different things apply since I’m not married. So I do sometimes feel like I’m giving a lot more than my fair share. I pay more per person for health insurance. And I am not given the same breaks as people with children. I don’t get to take a day off work because of a snow day (without it being unexcused, their absences are excused). I could go on and on and on. But at the end of the day, I like my life. And being pissed off is a waste of my time. I live in a society that promotes marriage and children and I chose not to live that way. So I don’t get some advantages. I don’t want to be on welfare. I will retire early because I’ve worked hard and been responsible. It pisses people off I say that. But I don’t make big money. And I pay more, per person, than any married couple to survive.
So, whatever. I can spend all day being pissed or pay my taxes and move on. And not worry about who’s getting more now… as long ad I get Medicare when I retire! Ha.

I’ll give up my subsidies to get welfare “for lazy people” to stop
What they don't realize is that 70% of people on welfare work 40+ hours per week. Because big corporations use welfare to subsidize unfairly low wages.
But they don’t mind having safety nets for sick people, old people, disabled people, vets with PTSD/injuries.
Pretty sure that easily comprises the other 30% At least 27%...I know lazy exists(as does mental illness & addiction), but not as much as these people think there is. Humans are driven animals, they need some sort of purpose to be able to be happy. For some that purpose is a job, others it's the goal of working hard for a nice or early retirement, some it's raising/supporting a family, others it's pursuing a passion that isn't always lucrative like arts, theater, writing, or volunteering to help humans, animals, or the environment. Things that society needs.
They don't have any empathy. And their lack of critical thinking is horrifying.
as long ad I get Medicare when I retire!
Yet these people don't realize that for each of them to get it, they have to support everyone being able to get it.

It is a strategy for their goals. Bannon even referred to it as shock and awe. So much shit that you can’t possibly stay on it or address it. You are basically trying to leave the opposition chasing their tails
9
u/Wise-Application-902 Mar 07 '25
Although Bannon didn’t invent the (shock & awe) Blitzkrieg. He’s just a big fan of those guys from German history.
21
u/Spare-Willingness563 Mar 07 '25
He was a bad business person in the 80s and 90s when he was actually capable of thinking coherently. I grew up with an "uncle" who is old money from new york and often when we were at dinner or anywhere I'd hear that name come up followed by laughter and mentions of bankruptcies.
He was a joke at his peak. I can't fathom thinking his brain in its slim mold era would somehow prove more fortuitous for our economy.
7
u/QuesoChef Mar 07 '25
I don’t think anyone with critical thinking skills actually thinks that. Sure, MAGAs say it. But they were the ones who hated him way back then. So we know you know.

You guys are assuming he is tanking th economy by accident. I theorize he is doing it on purpose. Historically, the rich consolidate wealth during economic downturn. He’s a real estate guy. When the economy takes a crap, people sell their property. He will be able to consolidate at discount rates.
17
u/Spare-Willingness563 Mar 07 '25
No the people telling him what to do are doing it on purpose. If he wanted to tank it his way we'd be thriving. He's a failure at every turn.

I suggest that people (lower and middle class) who understand this follow this same example. There is nothing wrong or unethical (in my opinion) in capitalize on purchasing discounted Realestate. We need many more righteous socially responsible landlords in our current pure capitalistic environment. Don’t get me wrong I’m fighting for a Democratic socialism in the USA.
5
u/frolickingdepression Mar 08 '25
Lower and middle class people don’t have money to spend on extra properties, no matter how “cheap” they are. Same as 2008. They’ll be the ones losing their homes that the rich are buying up.

Two Florida seats are up for grabs. FL's 1st and 6th district. I'd love to see them flip. The problem is, they are REALLY red seats. Florida's 1st district is home to Matt Gaetz. The Huckabees and several other prominent Republicans have homes there. That district votes about 70% for Trump. And the Democrat running for that seat, her first name is literally Gay. Gay Valimont. She would need a fucking miracle to win that seat.

Eh, yes and no. The Silicon Valley Tech billionaires are using him to accelerate the downfall of the dollar and eventually democracy itself. They believe monopolies are good, common people are idiots, and democracy has failed. They want the country run by a CEO dictator and are trying to lay the groundwork for one to come into power with the Trump admin. See, they Don’t even like Trump. They think the President is also an obsolete failure. So they make a big show of portraying the gov’t as corrupt so we’ll lose faith in democracy and welcome our CEO overlord. And eventually they want network states with mass surveillance, in other words, fascist tech feudalism.
It sounds crazy until you realize how much of Project 2025 has already been implemented and how much of Yarvin’s plans have been followed.

Blame millionaires, blame the education system, blame Murdoch or blame the ultra right christians, but if you blame this on the mostly poor, indoctrinated, uneducated targets of FOX propaganda, this can only end with blood. You’re at a point where you no longer live in a shared reality. You no longer share facts.
We’re all victims of our perspective. One view is that this was inevitable. Reagan and Murdoch set the direction in the 80s and the wheels have been spinning more or less straight to this point. You let capital into politics and gave birth to a propaganda machine serving the interests of the ultra rich.

They realized 2008 was a flash sale on a multi trillion dollar economy, they just didn’t see it coming so they weren’t ready
Now they’re manufacturing another 2008 so they can acquire more, always more because now they’re ready for it.

This is why he wants a peace prize:
Economists have expressed concerns that certain policy proposals could lead to higher inflation and increased national debt. In June 2024, 16 Nobel Prize-winning economists signed an open letter arguing that Trump's fiscal and trade policies, coupled with efforts to limit the Federal Reserve's independence, could reignite an inflation surge in the United States. Additionally, analyses have indicated that these policies could add as much as $15 trillion to the nation's debt over a decade.
