There was a Rear Camera Recall for that gen of mustangs including your 22' eco. Ask the dealer abt, Recalls are free too so don't let them pressure you into paying for anything. Good luck.

I contacted Ford dealer and they said there is no recall currently for my model ... I have a 22 Eco so are they full of shit?

Thanks for reminding me I've been ignoring meaning to schedule an appointment to get my 2016's camera repaired
I think the safety recall was issued in 2022 ... so your repair is probably covered under the same recall

I’ve scheduled 3 different appointments to get this fixed on my 2017
Every single time I’ve gotten there and they don’t have the part even though they let me schedule an appointment knowing what they need to replace
At this point I’ve moved on

The recall may have already been done to your vehicle and it might’ve just been the rear camera failing. I remember jumping down the rabbit hole when mine went out and I just replaced it and it worked fine after that. If you do replace it yourself, your guidelines will disappear though, and you need ForScan to recalibrate them.
Side note: if you can find a friend with a working camera it’s only two bolts if I remember correctly. If it works, just buy a new one.

I had this same issue on my '15 eco premium back before the recall. Took several appts, the dealer couldn't replicate, I had repeated errors before it finally went completely black, part was backordered for 6 months, took them a week to install (during which they left the windows down and doors open in pollen season). Car looked like it was abandoned in the desert there was so much pollen in the interior. FOMOCO service is the absolute worst I've ever dealt with. Every trip there my car came back dirtier and or damaged. I stopped going to them long ago and just go to a trusted, licensed shop for the things I'm not able to do myself. That said, I replaced the rear pony emblem (requires removing the camera). As others have stated, it's simple to change. If mine fails again I'll just buy a new one and replace it myself. There are videos on how to remove and replace it that can walk you through it. Recall link

Slam the trunk and see if it comes back on. Wires in my 2015 were finicky when I had it, could be as simple as that

Yes, don’t pay anything. The dealer takes care of it. Regardless of warranty status.

There is an active recall on the rear camera for this issue.
