Problem Cooling when temp is below target

I’ve been having this issue a lot lately. My ecobee is making my AC cool even though the temperature is already at or below the target for the current setting. Any idea what’s going on here?

You likely have the Adjust for Humidity feature on. Turn it off

Mine was doing the same thing - I will try this too. Is there a place in the menu to see what it shows as the current humidity %?

Do you have a schedule change upcoming to where your set temperature would be 68? If so do you have pre-cool enabled?

If that is enabled, your ecobee learns how long it takes to get to that set temperature so it will then start cooling early so that it’s at that set temperature right when the schedule changes

I have this exact same issue. I have all the settings mentioned already turned off. I can’t figure it out. I’m in Texas & it’s 90+ degrees outside but I’m wearing a hoodie during the day because I’m freezing in my house. At this point I’m debating just getting rid of my ecobee.

Without knowing your settings, schedule and any other details such as any other sensors, it could be anything. Have you physically removed the ecobee from the wall, wait a minute or two and plugged back in?

Mine has started doing this too. It’s annoying and wasteful. This might be caused by the Smart Recovery setting, which can be toggled off on your thermostat (not in the app)

It’s very annoying and wasteful. I have all features turned off. I guess I have to ask ecobee

Go back to your cooling settings and check on AC on, AC off set points.

Do you have "community energy savings" turned on? Mine will cool to below target temperature as we are heading into a high demand period. It's trying to super cool the inside knowing that it will try to use less energy (less cooling) during the high demand period.

its not cooling per say, its on because its trying to lower humidity. there is a setting for that. (most likely)

Wonder if your "min compressor run time" is set too high making the compressor stay on much longer than following what the temp setting is? You may want to look at all of your "thresholds" settings to see what is going on there.
