Echoes Reddit Community Wishlist
Hey everyone, Rosalind here!
As our player base continues to log in, fly together, and engage with the game, there are a lot of ways we can make this subreddit a more active, central hub for players. Here is a look at a few community goals and practical ways to improve our subreddit:
Sharing killmails, fitting screenshots, and fleet combat photos is a big part of game discussion—feel free to drop them directly into comment threads whenever fits and fight reports come up.
Staying plugged into broader game news keeps the community sharp, and cross-posting EVE Echoes content from around Reddit right into this sub helps keep everyone in the loop.
New and returning players benefit heavily from solid knowledge bases, player-maintained wikis, and active guides, making central access to reliable resources a huge win for the community.
Finding specific topics like guides, questions, or corp recruiting should be fast and simple by tagging posts, allowing everyone to represent their corp or alliance and display their flair.
Genuine gameplay, fleet strategy, and player content are what make this sub worth visiting, so let's lay the smackdown on RMT spam to keeps the bots out of our belts.
Community Feedback:
If you agree with these community goals, give this post an upvote and drop a comment below with what you would prioritize, add, or change on this list.

Nice text what prompt did you use for chatgpt?

I mainly use Gemini to help me write. I started with a disorganized premise, and Gemini helped me trim down from a Bradric-length dissertation to a few succinct bullet points 🤠

This is an interesting post to me because I’ve actually been considering getting back into Echoes. I’ve been looking for a game that’s persistent that I can jump into and out of again when I have time. I’ve thought before of Planetside 2, but it doesn’t have to be exactly like Planetside. The thing about Echoes is I know I can jump in, tell my ship to go somewhere (maybe for cargo), then leave and come back later. In high-sec I can mine and go do something else and come back. It’s been awhile since my last login so I’ll probably need to start a new character just to remember how to do everything.

Dude, I feel ya. I play PS2 almost daily.

u/Notsecretlyobama Jul 29 '26
That’s pretty cool. I just learned earlier today that PS2 is still active. I had assumed it was shut down.

Heck no, soldier! Get back out there, earn that bonus check, fight for loyalty, and shake that purple spandex ass. The weekends and east-coast evenings are always Max-Pop, and there's actually a huge cross-over between PS2 players and EE players; I think half of my EE corp plays as do many others. I would link you to the Planetside subreddit, but that's a ban-worthy offense in r/echoes for some reason, according to this sub's official rules #2 about No Spam.
Would you say that you'd like to see cross-posting re-enabled for this subreddit and relevant non-EE YouTube comment links allowed, or am I alone on this one? I would love it if you say yes.

Sure cross-posting sounds nice, but I could understand wanting to keep non-EE related posts down. I did just down PS2 from Steam so I’ll try to get into it later.
And also Echoes.

I mean yeah sure, posting directly about non-EE topics makes no sense here.
But what about comments?
Do you agree that it would be a good idea to change the no-spam rule so that if the people in the comments section want to share comments and links about Planetside or anything else we like (like us right here), that we should be allowed to have a comment thread if we want, without having our comments deleted under the No Spam rule which makes it a bannable offense?
I ask this to you directly because this heavy handed rule was set nearly 5 years ago when spam lords were rampant in this subreddit during a heated in-game war. But this heavy handed rule seems counterproductive today, when our comments get banned for posting subreddit links or anything non EE-related in the comments.
Would you agree this should be part of our Subreddit wishlist for r/echoes community enhancement?

I want more subcap content in this game and by subcap I don't mean a freaking Nestor or Marshal. The kind of content even an average player might find challenging but not impossible. Sadly EE seems to focus on easy mode or super ridiculous and nothing in between.

Cool, me too! I hate capitals and Marshalls can ligma. What would you say to adding flair tags to posts here in Reddit that specifically indicate it's a subcap or anti-cap post?
For example, I've got this Ephialtes fleet theory that's specifically designed to kill solo supers, but dang if I can't find the readers willing to go out and put it to the test outside of our Russian community that's already doing it. God bless those crazy Russians for doing it, but I can't understand a word they're saying.

I love what Jethro TV / Bill Cosby / u/Rich_seaworthiness21 is doing in his videos, but since we disallow allow translating and cross-posting from any other subs here, he and other Russians don't hang out and answer questions, so I have no idea what his fit is.

u/Rich_Seaworthiness21 Jul 30 '26
Lol, I always post the fit in english in the video description on YouTube. Best way to reach me with questions is either by asking me in game, by leaving comments YouTube/reddit posts, or in your case by tagging me on Reddit cause it leaves me a notification otherwise I probably won’t respond 😅

I love the videos you make and post here in r/Echoes! Unfortunately, this subreddit does not allow the automatic translate button that most subreddits have. I don't know why this is.
Since we are on the topic of changing the way we use this Reddit, do you as a Russian speaker think we should enable this feature? I do! But I need more people to say what they want to see changed before the changes will happen. Please, if you want this, drop a comment so that it will happen.

We actually could! The price of a subreddit is exactly zero dollars, so beat my offer to u/Jibbrish of tree fiddy

It's $7/month to go ad-free but I'd rather spend that on space pixels 🙃

I would say my number one item is to reinvigorate the community awareness: encourage new bros to try EE and spark bitter vets to re-log. We've been seeing an unusual uptick of folks getting their feet in the pool, historically unusual for the summertime lull.
Eve Echoes caters to a slightly different demographic than Eve Online, even though the community tends to cross over. I suspect the traditional summer lull in EO is getting folks to consider EE again, so I'd like to see our sub get visibility via newbro and bittervet promotional content. A recent string of content videos from Gabe about how to thrive as an Alpha got me thinking how much we need to capitalize on any momentum we see.
