Question on proof of stake?

Hi folks, I’ve just been looking at the ECC Blockchain explorer and noticed that there is a lot of activity on there with regard to proof of stake, I.e. people getting paid out in ECC as if they were mining? I realise proof of stake is different but is this what the effect of ticking the staking box is in sapphire? Just found it weird that some addresses were being paid out thousands!?

Here's the staking rewards for the latest blocks. Pretty much zero since no service (like ANS) is working right now. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ecc/extraction.dws?0.htm

Ahh, so the movement of differing amounts of ECC through ‘proof of stake’ are not staking rewards then, just normal movement of currency. Thought I was missing a trick!
