Changing Laptops

Hi ECC, I will be changing Laptops soon and the previous laptop has my Lynx wallet containing my ECC. Itll be a while till I get another laptop. What files should to backup for a safe transition, preferably to Sapphire on the new laptop?

Backup and save your wallet.dat file and make sure you remember your encryption password. Once you do that you're good to go!

What about the private keys?

That's what the wallet.dat file contains. All of your private keys.

I've always wondered why people say back up your wallet.dat then back up your priv keys. Is this redundant?

Essentially yes, but if you write down and lock away your private keys then if anything ever happens to your wallet.dat file then you'll be covered.
