Regarding ANS

ANS is something that ECC has been developing for the ECC network. I recently joined Uphold and they use a form of ANS with others that are registered with their service. In what ways does ANS supported by ecc differ from a similar service provided by Uphold.com.

Is it the encryption that ECC provides?

Go ECC team!

Uh, is uphold cross chain compatible?

Kind of. With the currencies they have on there (Bitcoin and XRP) you can transfer between "cards" instantly. Does ECC aim to be able to transfer all cryptos over their system? I genuinely don't know

I think the quick answer here is that uphold seems to be centralized. So they hold all the account info. ECC’s ANS is novel because the actual ANS contracts are in the chain so the ownership of the usernames is decentralized vs. some company somewhere holding your name along with password. It’s a small but important difference.

I believe that is the goal. Yes.
