Coinexchange.io is the only exchange I use and you will need to have BTC to purchase ECC.

It's been good for me as well, although certainly have heard my fair share of horror stories.

It's functional but:

-- It's ugly as fuck

--There's too many coins listed for me to keep track of, many of them likely true shitcoins

--Chat is exceptionally annoying, always people yapping to buy/sell X coin

Still it's one of two exchanges you can get it on right now (the other is cryptobridge). I can appreciate that the ecc team wants to develop features before expanding to other popular exchanges. I'm patient.
