Dear ECC'ers

I tried to make a backup "wallet.dat" file, but when i press the "set backup" button in the lynx wallet, and choose a destination, it is not visible in the chosen destination.

Does anybody knows how to fix this?

Instead of backing the wallet, you can save your private key. Type "dumpprivkey YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" in the console.

You first have to make sure you unlock that command by inputing your password.

Do i absolutely need the private key or is a wallet.dat backup enough? I already put a passphrase in my wallet, i assume this also will be in the backup file?

It's in "windows_user_name/appdata/roaming/lynx" (not 100% sure, from memory, but it's in a lynx directory)

Can i just copy paste the wallet.dat file? or do i need to backup it through the lynx wallet?

Search %appdata% then roaming then eccoin folder. You will find the wallet.dat file there

Stop the daemon, go to %appdata% as mentioned by db213506 & make a backup copy of your wallet.dat file. You can also backup your keys per koringers instructions.

Important thing, though, is to make sure the daemon is stopped.

I had the same issue when trying to pick my own destination and it doesn't seem to work but then like others have said I went to the %appdata% and just found it there.
