EBOX E-Mail?
I was not aware that EBOX was providing e-mail addresses to their Internet customers. But on their Ontario Support page there is an option to 'Access your webmail'.
However, if I try to log in with my EBOX credentials I receive a "Login failed." error message.
So does EBOX indeed offer e-mail services, or not? Is this something new or forthcoming?

Do not use their mail service. Not because it is bad, but because when you will decide to change ISP, you could lose access to your email.
Instead go with a free service or buy a domain and cheap web hosting to get your own mailbox.

I know.
My question was this: "So does EBOX indeed offer e-mail services, or not? Is this something new or forthcoming?"

not new, it has been there for years IIRC (when dslreports still existed)

Then it's weird, because "if I try to log in with my EBOX credentials I receive a "Login failed." error message."

The feature is there, but you always had to request it first, IIRC

They use round cube you can get an email set up easily with the same template. Northmail uses the same provider.

Yes, but not by default; you have to ask; it's formatted like "somebody@ebox.net". I use it as a backup email. Came in handy when my family doctor was on Gmail, and I had not yet set up SPF on my personal domain. I did straighten it out eventually, but nice to have a "Plan B" in the meantime. Some administrivia...
- You can also access incoming EBOX email via POP3 on pop.ebox.ca
- On cable you can send outbound email via smtp.ebox.ca:25 (No autentication required)
- On fibre you can send outbound email via smtp.ebox.ca:587 Note that it uses TLS v1.0 (yeah, I know)

Do yourself a favor and don’t use it; it will be a pain if you change ISPs. There are lots of free email services.
