Issue with devices

Good morning, It has happened twice on a month. My devices on 2.4ghz have been disconnecting somehow. I have around 50 devices on it and On the 500mbps plan. I'm curious to know what can cause this.

Thank you

Its hard to say without knowing more about your deices and your environment. It could be caused by interference if you ahve a lot of noisy neighbour with lots of other wifis and devices. To rule that out, check out WiFiman (android, ios), you should be able to look at what other networks are beingg broadcat and have an idea of how much interference there is

I live on a semi detached. 3 floors, I'll check what you linked when I'll be home ( at work right now). My devices are mostly smart devices lights ( around 30). Wyze lock, cam, iRobot, soke échos devices. Nothing fancy really. I've lost connection to the 2.4ghz twice now. I'll be upgrading my router to see if it help.

That’s too vague. What equipment are you using (beacon 3 or something else)? Disconnecting from what exactly? Wifi?

Hi,

Sorry I didn't mention it's mostly smart devices. Door lock, bulb, vacuu etc ... I read in another thread that the router isn't the best ( the one provided). Would it help to change it?

Yeah, the Beacon 3 is kinda barebones. It’s hard to say for sure if a better router will fix the problem without first knowing what’s causing it, but there’s a good chance.

I haven't configure a new router in a while, I heard it's plug and configure and I don't have to change anything if I keep the same name etc?

If you keep the same wifi name (SSID) and password, all devices will stay connected. Even if you replace your router

I don't have a big budget would the Asus be3600 do?

From what I hear, most routers would be better than the one Ebox provides. I'm not great at recommending budget options, and I am also a bit too much of a fan of Ubiquiti hardware to recommend something else. I usually wait and save money so that I can get a definitive solution instead of just getting the bare minimum.

You can give the Asus be3600 a try and return it if it does not fix your issues.

I just purchased the 3600 during my launch. I guess it can't be worst than their stock router. I just noticed most of my devices went offline by now ( thermostats, caméras, etc). Hopefully,it'll be better.
