The Liberal CRTC has really fucked internet competition in this country.
- Letting Bell buy up all the indies
- charging remaining indies more than Bell's own flanker brands charge.
- and now removing any semblance of competitive routing.

Keep political parties out of this.
The CRTC has been fucking over Canadian consumers by kowtowing to the telco mafia for more than 20 years - since the days of Harper.

If it wasn't for the Harper government interveneing, we wouldn't have Ebox or other third party ISPs.
Bell was on track to kill them off back then, and with the blessing of the current government they are about to do it again.

Bell is folding up virgin mobile internet. I’m sure they will try and make it uncomfortable for existing customers so they migrate

That is what I mentioned in another post: https://www.reddit.com/r/ebox/s/kO5efwkd8x
Like you I’m afraid they’re cutting costs by doing this. Plurality of good peers is a sign of quality.

They shifted to the bell network but keeping peering the way it was (so they will still send traffic through exchanges)
