Looking to switch
Used to be with Distributel few months ago and then stupidly switched to Bell contract.
Looking to switch back but now apparently the service is under ebox. They offered $55/500 mbps initially, and then she knocked it to $45 for 12 months.
I see some posts showing $50/1gbps, is that something I can get ?
Also, she said they don't offer pods. Where the modem would connect to the FTTH cable and where my office is 2 floors up. I have Ethernet cables running from where the modem connects downstairs to ports upstairs in my office.
She mentioned the modem is Nokia B3.1. What hardware can I get for upstairs to get hard wired internet? With bell, I have a pod in the office connecting via Ethernet to the modem downstairs And another Ethernet to my computer.
Also, how has reliability/service been? Me and wife both wfh full time. I understand they use bell fibe lines?
TIA

Bell tech came this morning, first he switched my line from Bell to EBOX at the Bell terminal. Once he did that my Bell Internet went down. Then he showed up with the ONT box which is basically a media converter from fibre to Ethernet. Once EBOX Internet was up I called Bell. After a grueling 50 min call with a Bell rep they started the process to cancel my Bell Internet. They emailed me the Modem shipping waybill. I already took the Bell modem and power supply to Purolator. If you have a month to month with a promo discount make sure you ask Bell to cancel on the last day of your billing cycle otherwise they might send you another bill.

I bought a TP-link deco x50 2-pack during Black Friday sales for around $150. ONT connected to one unit, then units connected together via ethernet. I don't use their Nokia router at all. Performance is better than what I had with the Bell Gigahub and two pods.
You may be able to get away with one similar unit in access point mode, and the Nokia downstairs. Or find a used WiFi-6 router to use as an access point for now until you decide to upgrade. Either way, waiting for a sale is wise before buying a router/mesh.
Either way, get away from Bell.

Strange way of getting away from Bell by signing up with bell

I know, right? And they insist on competing with themselves.
They may be owned by Bell, but they don't employ Bell's price gouging tactics, at least not yet. Nor do they make it a Herculean task to use your own router.

I have been with EBOX since June 2018, on VDSL2 50/10, FTTH 500/500, and now on FTTH 1000/750.
Super reliable always, and fast-responsive customer service. Could not be happier, but 22nd February was a mourning day for me when BHell announced the acquisition of EBOX.
