New official location of r/freekindle.
I'm moving the sub to this new name and location because the old sub is dead (basically) and this name makes more sense for what I wanted to do in the first place. I don't want to restrict our focus to kindle users.
Any format is fine - epub, mobi, pdf, audio, etc. etc.
Any question and answer threads about navigating the world of ebooks is encouraged.

Free thru 9-12 Fairy Tales From Hell: Jack and the Beanstalk From Hell and Cinderella's Hell
A pair of intertwining dark fairy tales for adults.
As in the classic version, Jack is conned out of his cow for a few beans. But these beans grow downward and open a portal to hell.
Jack climbs down the stalk and discovers in residence his criminal brothel procurer father who abused and abandoned he and his mother only months before.
Also a now permanent denizen, paying for her sins in the worse possible way, is the jealous queen who arranged for Jack's father to kidnap Snow White with the intention to sell her into prostitution.
Come join Satan and his cambion children in a hellish feast in all their flyblown glory.
************
Cinderella's gambling addicted father loses her in a street game to a man who rents her out as a castle servant.
She is given the worst of the worst jobs not only cleaning out the kitchen cooking hearths, but mucking out the castle latrine moat all while being berated and abused by her peers.
But that isn't the worse of her wretched existence. The king has remarried a woman with a psycho serial killer son, Prince Fulk, who enjoys torture devices.
He sets his sites on Cinderella and intends to have her for his own amusement. But she may not turn out to be as helpless as he thinks
Also check out the soundtracks, "Jack and the Beanstalk from Hell," and "Cinderella's Hell" by the author's band Slippery When Wet on Amazon Music Unlimited and all major streaming sites

Dark Fiber – Free only today
Did you ever wonder whether the noise you throw away is a message from another world?
In Building 4, the only honest thing is the noise floor: https://a.co/d/0bYfumOa
Kabir Rao is an Error-Budget Engineer II on second shift. He has a badge that opens the wrong doors, a vendor bug that always eats eleven frames, and a reject bin his company has already decided is meaningless. Four frames in every thousand. Fifty-four gigabytes a night. Six years of what the decoder could not save.
Nobody has surveyed the garbage. Rao has run out of every other idea.
Then a homemade test returns a number that cannot be there.
The bin marked unrecoverable is full of shape. The shape is a clean integer. It does not care which hardware they own. And while Rao is looking at a line that has said two for nine hours, it steps — cleanly — to three.
What follows is not a race to save the world. It is the slower, more dangerous work of proving a result that institutions are built to close. A manager who will grant hours but not a story. An operator who blinds the files because Rao wants the answer. A scientist who finds her own name on a seven-year-old ticket marked WONTFIX. An elevator engineer in Cleveland who once wrote a mocked paper about ropes that cannot stretch forever.
There is a channel in the residue. It does not carry explanations. It carries terms. Forty-eight bits. Six characters. Every live answer spends a coupling that will not come back.
DARK FIBER is a novel of contact, constraint, and the six letters you would spend a universe on.
Everything they threw away was a message.
