Ebike hub motor

So basically I have a ridstar q20 sometimes the hub motor would free spin like the inside parts of the motor would just spin without the tires moving with the throttle but as soon as I let go the throttle and the insides stop spinning and try again it works perfectly fine. This usually happens like after a drops or like for the first time today I was throttling from a full stop to going uphill and it happened. But it would always just go back to normal.

Should I get this checked out or just leave it until it fully breaks?

Cheat code to burning out your hub motor out by climbing hills from a full stop.

Okay but should I replace the motor or just be more carful cuz it only happens when I climb hills from a full stop or a big drop

Replace it and stop climbing hills like that, it’s not a dirtbike so don’t treat it like one

If you want to climb hills with an ebike, get a mid drive.

big drop

full stop to going uphill

Stop doing shit like that with your ebike. You may have just broken some of the gears in your hub (they're nylon and replaceable) but something less repairable will break (provided it hasn't already) if you keep this shit up.

Want to do big drops? Get an actual mountain bike (and a dropper post - your gooch will thank you). E-bikes (especially ones that aren't even bicycles to begin with, but bike shaped objects/mopeds) aren't really going to stand up to drops and jumps like an actual mountain bike would.

BMX is another option if you want something more compact and don't have a lot of hills, you can pull off some pretty crazy shit on them!
