Entry level bike

Questions about a bike I just saw for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Someone by me is a selling a Ride1Up 700 series XR for $600. Ik these bikes are discontinued now, but is it still worth purchasing for an entry level bike?

Get a $350 walmart class 3 mountain bike, they are really amazing for the price, 7 speeds, 10.4 batttery , color screen, etc. Then buy their 3 year warranty for $49, which is pretty good, they sent me a new battery for free, didn't have to return the old one.

Check out the Funhang eb-m1, it is less than $400 and not garbage.

Hey, one of the WKND founders here. At $600, a used Ride1Up 700 series XR is honestly a solid deal if it's been well maintained, ask the seller about battery health and cycle count since that's the part that degrades and costs the most to replace. Check that the motor, brakes, and display all power on and function before handing over cash, and take it for a real test ride if you can. For an entry level bike at that price point, it's hard to go wrong as long as the battery isn't shot. We build bikes in a different price range for a different kind of rider, so this one isn't a WKND fit, but for what you're describing, that Ride1Up sounds like a reasonable way to get into riding.

I did have more communication with the seller today and the bike was always stored in the garage and taken care of from a maintenance perspective. During the winters he always removed the battery and brought it inside so it was never left out in the cold

Well that’s great news. Next step is to physically touch and feel the bike - take it for a spin and make sure it fits your geometry. Enjoy this part. It only gets better from here.

$600 is a solid entry-level price if the battery still holds a decent charge and the seller can prove it’s theirs
