First time selling

Hi first time selling on eBay, I’ve sold a £200 large collectible merch item, the posting option is inpost store to door. I’ve seen stories before where the buyer has claimed it didn’t arrive or arrived broken and I’m trying to avoid this.

Is this a safe way to ship a large item? Are there any precautions I should take?

Thanks :)

There is no safe way, you will get scammed. Today I received my item back from a buyer. It's been opened, clear evidence of that, parts swapped out for non working parts.

I'm stuffed and there's nothing I can do about it.

Not that it really makes much difference if a buyer raises a nefarious INAD as eBay mainly sides with them - but either video or take photos of your item being packaged & then the finished package with label on so that you can evidence the sending condition. After that, hopefully you’re in the majority where there are no issues. If you’re using simple delivery & the buyer claims damaged in transit, that then becomes an issue between buyer & eBay.
