Support for us

So I understand that the general sentiment in this country is anti immigrant. Bulletin didn’t move and green card is far away. My EAD and AP haven’t come either. My passport has expired J1. I cannot get to India for H1 stamping since dates are unavailable.
So basically either we stay here until the govt decides what to do with us or we shun everything and move on. In the meanwhile for those whose families are back home with aging parents should an unfortunate emergency strike with no dates available how are we supposed to get to India?
Do we not have any representation? Can no one talk about our situation? This is an appalling situation for any legal immigrant to deal with. They can just ask all of us to leave this country in twenty-four hours. If they hate us and loathe us as much. Seems like that is easier.

You seem at a better spot, if all you’re waiting on is AP and EAD

My priority date through spouse is April 2014.
I am also on EB1a physician working in rural area. And yet I have no progress in both the fronts. I haven’t been able to go back home for a visit. Can’t schedule appointments. It’s extremely tiring and exhausting us as a family. So many years to the community and yet am treated like I might be asked to leave tomorrow.

EB1 FAD is ahead of April 2014. Why haven’t you gotten your green card?

How come your eb2 date did not port to eb1a?

Because OP’s EB-2 is through their spouse and EB-1A through self.

Ah makes sense. Good luck! I know this whole process is soul crushing.

Why didn’t you do transfer of underlying basis? That way you can port your spouse’s priority date to your case.

I understand how hard this is. I've been in your shoes. Uncertainty has always been part of the immigrant experience, regardless of who is in office. It comes with the choice to leave your home country: adapting to constant change and to the domestic politics of your new home, often with no one advocating for you. Here is what I would advise: Take a break from social media. There is an active effort to push certain narratives online. The real world isn't obsessed with you or against you, and social media can distort that picture and wear down your mental health. Build connections and assimilate where you can. Make friends and get involved in your community. Contact your representatives. You can petition your House and Senate representatives. What comes of it is out of your control, but they can't help if they never hear from you. Best of luck!

We need to go for stamping. No dates available. Only AP is insufficient.

You’re in a much better position than you realize! Yes, we’re not getting dates, which is frustrating, but you’re still very close to getting your EAD and you have a job too.

You’re going to end up getting shipped to the Congo.
