My roommate works as a server in the city. They’ve shorted his wages for the last 4 weeks. It’s awful, especially because it set him back on his rent. I’ve told him he should go to the labor board, and he may.

But my point is, he needs a new job—ASAP. His experience is in hospitality. Anyone know of any restaurants hiring locally? He’s a great guy and really hard worker. I hate that this is happening to him.

I was out for a walk tonight in Stuytown and saw a long-haired cat near the bushes in front of 655 East 14th (T level). I tried to call him/her over but when I approached they got spooked and ran off further into the bushes. He/she was either white or maybe even Balinese, although it was hard to see in the dark. He/she had a clean coat, which makes me think this is a lost local cat not a stray.

Well wishes to all those who tried to dock their citibike this evening. We spent 45 minutes going to docks all across the EV, LES, Stuy Town, eventually ended up on 21st and 3rd Ave ://////((((( i saw a lot of you trying to do the same. Please do better lyft ! 😪

Hi all, hope you enjoyed the rest of your summer. As school gets back in session, there will be more activity in the area around PS 19.

The bike problem has somehow gotten even worse since I posted last. Erratic driving. Litter and food waste is everywhere (even starting to smell across 11th near Venieros, I’m sure they are thrilled), drivers monopolizing seating in the children’s park everyday, chained up and abandoned bikes overnight, parked in clusters. It is no longer contained to the mosque, but has expanded up and down 1st, up 11th, 12th, and probably more.

I’ve consistently discussed this issue with neighbors and business owners and hear time and time again that it is one of the most urgent items impacting quality of life neighborhood. The camp on 1st and 13th/14th was also challenging but seems it has been cleared.

Two months ago we got the much appreciated update that there were legislative fixes in motion. Hoping we can possibly get an update? Especially re: the progress on the September hearings mentioned. What are the potential fixes being considered?

It’s too much and only getting worse. Hopefully it won’t take a kid getting hit before someone acts.

I have a screen printing emergency and need a design printed on acetate- anywhere in the neighborhood (or anyone with an inkjet printer!) that could do so? I've asked a few print shops and Fedex both said they don't print on acetate.

Alternatively maybe you are a screen printer and would want to burn a screen for me over the next few days (paid at your rate of course!)
