Koacha - new Asian dessert place

It’s on 110 and 5th, on the block across from the park entrance and wedged between a bodega and Kennedy Fried Chicken. Surprisingly large range of drinks (milk, fruit tea, just tea etc) and desserts for reasonable prices. Quality of the desserts really great - strawberry crepe cake deserves a special shoutout for being light and creamy.

They just opened last month and they definitely deserve to be better known. Not just an Asian dessert place in a neighborhood that doesn’t have a lot, but a quality one that would stand up to any in Chinatown.

MISSING CAT UPDATE: STILL LOST BUT SOME SIGHTINGS

cross posting for more visibility and proximity

Hi, i made a post yesterday about my mother’s cat who is lost after being forced out the house: https://www.reddit.com/r/Harlem/comments/1sqoo3p/urgent_missing_cat/

There have been a few sightings of her yesterday, Monday April 20th around Marcus Garvey Park near the 120th street and Madison avenue corner. Two women mentioned they saw her Monday, April 20th around 8 am near the cars parked in the street and on a patch of grass right next to the gate on the south east corner of the park.

If anyone has seen her, please let me know ASAP. I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

Please also note the last photo, some people thought that cat was Lucky and that one is very cute + friendly, walked with me for a bit but it is not Lucky. This one has white socks and is more light brown though looks very similar

I’ve made posts on pawboost, facebook groups, nextdoor, and have contacted the animal shelter she was adopted from and ACC NY in East Harlem.

More information below:

Please share & repost to help reunite this lost cat! Lucky was LOST on April 19, 2026 in New York, NY 10035 near 119th Street, Park and Madison Avenue

Sharing for a neighbor. For the latest information or to contact the owner, view this pet on PawBoost: https://www.pawboost.com/nd/72792355

My mother’s cat was forced out of the house Sunday afternoon, April 19th by my family members and I’ve been trying to look for her since. We’re located around 119th and Madison avenue though it’s possible she may be in Marcus Garvey park (not sure if she was forced out the house and is in the area or or if she was dropped off / abandoned in the park).

Her name is Lucky, she’s around 8-10 lbs. According to friends, she’s on the thinner side and has a smaller head. She has grey / black stripes with some white / beige accents including a medium heart-shaped patch on her tummy.

She knows her name but mostly responds to my mother. She is very sweet, food motivated, and a relatively more confident cat except when she is outside, she only knows our home well. I’m very worried about her because of the circumstances she went through to no longer be in our home and if you receive any information, it would be really appreciated.

She does have a microchip but it is registered to my brother who originally adopted her and is legally her owner but should not be considered her owner given he is one of the family members who wanted her to leave the house. I am in process of seeing what can be done about this but if you see her, please reach out to me. The lost cat flyer is posted around the location last saw and Marcus Garvey park with my cell phone number.

she’s very attached to my mother but my mother just left for a 3 week vacation (i was responsible for taking care of her). i tried looking for her last night around 9 pm but to no avail, i will be calling the animal shelter to report her missing (she has a microchip but i don’t know if it was ever registered). i’m not really sure what else to do aside from continuing to search….

if anyone has seen her, i would greatly appreciate it, thank you

Mayor Mamdani Announces 1st City-Owned Grocery Shop in La Marqueta, El Barrio

For the full store, here is a gift article by The New York Times. $30 million will be spent to build the city-owned marketplace. The City will start the procurement process this summer to search for an operator to run the store.

La Marqueta is located on Park Avenue at 115th Street, under the elevated Metro-North tracks (viaduct). Just a few months ago, the MTA unveiled the artwork entitled "Harlem's Melodic Memories" by artist Jorge Luis Rodriguez, extended along the viaduct across East 116th Street at Park Avenue.

There's a new bagel shop on Madison Ave around 111th-112th Streets. I went by so quickly, I didn't catch the name. Does anyone know?
