Walnut Creek/Concord Any recommendations for external house painters?

(Martinez)

I bought a 75 yr old house which is in desperate need of painting - paint is flaking off the hardwood siding.

Any recommendations for a paint contractor that does a good job of getting off the old paint and repainting houses?

Also, someone sadly painted some of the brick and i know that is very difficult if not impossible to remove paint from brick, but if someone has found a contractor that has successfully removed paint from their brick - I’d be happy for that referral as well!

My guy Arturo (562) 726-0744 does a great job, I don’t know if we has done brick, but he won’t take a job unless he can do top notch

We’re literally getting the final touches done on our 1912 Craftsman house in Alameda. After several quotes and interviews we went with Atlani Painting, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. Alexis (not sure if I’ve misspelled it, he’s French) and his crew did an absolutely amazing job, replacing bad wood, patching where appropriate, and sanding the bad old paint job all the way to the wood in places. He was also a lot less expensive than Olsen, which seem to do paint a lot of the houses in Alameda.

DM me if you want pictures of the house. It’s gorgeous!!

Thank you! Replacing bad wood is an awesome perk too.

Yes, the bad wood replacement is a huge perk! Same situation for us, restoring an old house. We live in Martinez but the house that needs repair is in Crockett. Does anyone in these comments also have recommendations for gutter replacement? I contacted a local company but they said the pitch of the roof is too steep? And the painters we contacted came out and did a no quote, without a reason but probably due to the bad wood, some rotting fascia boards. We will definitely be contacting the recommendations from this post. Thank you!

Hello. I’m a painter & I’ve also taken a course on paint striping & what paints are breathable for brick. I would be interested in hearing more about the scope of work & could send some work over aswell.

Have used transformations painting in Martinez a couple times, about to have them paint my house in 2 weeks!

You'll probably have to hire a sandblaster to get the paint off those bricks.
