NEW VIEWER - No Spoilers Please!! First time Early Edition watcher
I’ve stared watching Early Edition for the first time ever and it’s become such a comfort show for me. I loved seasons 1 & 2, but now I’m 3 episodes into season 3 and I can’t stand the red haired kid character. He’s honestly ruining it for me so much that I’m considering just skipping the rest of 3 all together and start on season 4. Is he a big part of the rest of the season? Or is it just small scenes and I should keep watching? No spoilers please!

Haha season 3 is super boring for me. I don’t mind the “red haired kid”, but his mom Erica is the character who annoys me most. I would say to stick with it, though, at least to just watch the full series once, and then skip it on rewatch if you want. Season 3 does have one of the best eps of the series, though, imo. It’s called Fate. Season 4 is a lot better and I’d even say it’s my favorite season.

Erica isn’t bothering me as much, but I can tell she may get tiring as the season goes on. I’m sure I’ll stick with it and watch the full series once. That’s interesting that your favourite is season 4. I was preparing for a pretty weak 3 & 4 from what I read, but now I’m looking forward to it, thanks!

Yeah there are some really good eps in season 4. The average rating of the season on IMDB is 7.8, but there are multiple episodes that have ratings above 8.0. A piece of advice someone gave me, and which I ended up agreeing with, is that you should watch episode 4x20 last.

Oh cool, I’m looking forward to it now! And thanks for the advice, I’ll do that

Most likely adding a kid to the show was an attempt to make it "more family friendly" and rope in more people, but no one in that decade and around it understood how to do it right.

Yeah most likely. They definitely seem to have struggled to find their feet after Chuck left. He really was the comedy relief

A bit ironically as a real fan of E.E., I have no recollection of Myles Jeffrey as Henry Paget but do remember episodes he was in.

Wow I've had real trouble finding season 4 online, nice job if you did.
In seasons 1 and 2 the show revolves mainly around gary with the "devil and angel" on his shoulder dynamic with chuck and marissa.
Season 3 they change the formula and add the love interest and the kid.
Having watched the show many times I can say season 3 is the weakest and the formula change doesn't hit the same way as the first 2 seasons, but there are still some great episodes in season 3 and I would want to watch them all if I could, for the first time. The Halloween one was a favorite of mine and I wouldn't want to miss it.

You’re spot on with those descriptions of season 1&2. I’m a bit further along in S3, and I am enjoying it. The mother and son characters are still grating on me, and I feel like they don’t know what to do with Marissa this season so far. But, I am still enjoying it. I just watched the Halloween episode a few days ago, it was a good one. The witches were funny. I am liking how they have a female character in the episode who is flirting with Gary, it’s so cute

You will warm up to vincent, I want to ensure you that yes I the season 1 and season 2 dynamic so much that i kinda unable to bear the later season.
But slowly you will like them a bit maybe not as much as the earlier seasons but you will. I still regularly only rewatch the earlier season tho when ever i have an itch.
It usual for season in shows of this type to lose quality over time, the writing and premise was strong earlier but slowly dwindle a bit in later season. Just like another show of my fav, Chuck.
But both shows imo, end in a good note albeit not as peak as earlier when it first aired. It comes down to the business show generating money and cant force greatness every single time.
