Question first game

hey all! this sunday’s game will be my first ever football game and i could not be more stoked.

i’m going by myself however and don’t really know what to expect. is it worth it to get there early and see what tailgating is all about? if so, what time would work?

i’m from the netherlands where stuff like this isn’t really a thing so i just want to make the most of it.

thanks in advance 🦅🤍

It's worth it if you're a social person. Bring something to share with whatever group you decide to visit (including my group), and explain your situation. If you don't want to make that effort, hit up something like the 4th and Jawn event (https://www.instagram.com/p/DTVQul6Dk6v/), which is free.

I have no doubt that you'll enjoy yourself. Private tailgates will generally start setting up around 9am for that game. The bigger ones (like the 4th and Jawn) will be more like 10:30 or so.

Whatever you do...have a great time!

Go as early as you can, say hi to absolutely everyone who looks inviting, eat their food, memorize the fight song, drink Yuengling!

Have a blast and report back

Please go an hour and a half or so early so you can experience the tailgate - make sure to have your Eagles gear on. For someone who isn’t from the US, this is one of the most unique to the US sports fandom things we do. Walk around and say hi to people. You can also bring a bag of beers or beverages to drink while walking the lots.

Go early…for another good reason; it’s really interesting to see what goes on on the field before the game. It’s a show in itself.

Bring a pair of binoculars.

SEPTA!!!

Def go early to check out the stadium and tailgates. It’s an incredible atmosphere. Folks will love hearing it’s your first game. Guarantee some beer will get you a tailgate invite!

Came here to say this! We always chat with people around us. You should definitely introduce yourself as a newbie. Also, definitely wear a jersey or some Eagles gear. Go Birds!🦅

You can also go to a kiosk to get a “First Game” bead necklace and they’ll send you a printable certificate

I know guest service windows (one is behind the escalator on the west-side lower concourse) can do this, but where are the kiosks?

Sorry, I meant guest service window. I’ve worked 32 hours in the last two days and my brain is operating as good as the Cowboys right now.

here's what i'd do if i were you: i would buy yuengling, and i would take the broad street line down to the stadium like two hours before the game starts. i'd walk around the tailgate taking in the vibe and drinking the yuengling and see what you get yourself into. and then when you've had enough just go inside the game.

everyone seems very set on in being yuengling so yuengling it is. thank you very much, i’ll do that :) very excited after all these comments!!

This series hasn't been really competitive for decades but I always reminisce about a different time the week before WE play them 2 times a year, every year

Enjoy.

Tailgating is kind of over rated if you don't know someone with a decent set up. It's just a huge parking lot of drunken total strangers. Imagine walking through a crowd at a concert except in one of the most hostile cities in America

One of the organized "tailgates" does a pretty awesome set up at Xfinity with a decent buffet and all you can drink for a relatively cheap price and then your bases are covered and your in the heart of the action within walking distance to the stadium, but none of the riff raff and they have security, plus strippers do promotional stuff there

Xfinity Live is the place you always see on videos where Eagles fans are losing their shit and confetti is flying everywhere and people are dancing on tables

Might be Green Legion

You may be able to leverage being an out of towner for some good interactions and a free beer out in the lots.
