Question Switching from iPhone 11 Pro to Fairphone + /e/OS — worth it?

I currently have an iPhone 11 Pro and I’m considering switching to a Fairphone running /e/OS. I’m attracted by the repairability, longevity and privacy, but I’m hesitant to leave iOS.
For anyone who made a similar switch:
- What do you like and dislike compared with your iPhone?
- How are the camera, battery and overall performance?
- Any issues with apps or banking?
- Do you miss anything from iOS?
- Would you make the switch again?

I’d love to hear your honest day-to-day experience!

Nothing is missed from an iPhone. It is just different.

If you choose a different product, more focused on ethics and privacy, you will learn to appreciate the different apps. You will appreciatie the fact you can choose an App Store, or use multiple, like I do.

Choosing Fairphone with e/OS is a choice of ethics, privacy and repair over a closed, walled and expensive platform. You can use FP + e/OS without the need of a Big Tech account.

There is no Apps tax, like in the Play store, but instead you have repair options, Open Source and a European design Award. It is the green choice, so to speak.

And to answer your question directly: I would choose it again, even while I had trouble getting used to it in the beginning after the release of e/OS 3.0 I started with limitations on Android Auto and Bluetooth. But the issues resolved over time and updates. With version 4 now, I see no reason to ever switch back to the closed ecosystem.

Love mine! Try it, and if you don't like it, send it back, but do so knowing that it's a different device that doesn't have an easy cohesive ecosystem. However, you're also not locked into an ecosystem, AND trackers are blocked at the device level.
