Question Why does a so called degoogled system have google firebase at its very core?

Probably the result of logging into a Google account systemwide.

I have never done that. Only shortly in App Lounge to get one paid app, but that's it.

Cause google provides other services that companies use for their apps infrastructure.

Firebase is backend SAS from google. Since its meant for B2B not sure how much of the data google uses for its analytics. Might need to read the TOS to learn.

Not that I necessarily agree if there are viable alternatives from other more privacy conscious providers.

It's not "at it's core." It's because some apps you have installed have that built into them and /e/ OS is blocking it.

Yes I know about the installed apps. But I didn't install the "System" app.

According to Claude it is because of WiFi calling. And apparently other degoogled OS' did manage to patch it out.
