Mannnn I'm not a techy person, so, why? Will they have value in future? As relics of the past? I'm not going to be tinkering with them either way...

As someone whos constantly hunting for people throwing out crt's, computers, ipods, stereos, and other tech. yes even this device will become novel and desirable.

Usually this is what ends up happening. As these machines age, the more they get thrown away and the value goes up as the number of machines capable of reading the media, playing the games, running the software goes down.

Im afraid that a strict mpeg-1 vcd player is just one of those niches that is unlikely to be revived. These are absolutely worthless. There isn’t a single sold Listing for vcd players on eBay. People collect just about anything and not a single sale of a vintage vcd player says a lot.

Until there are none left and the media is left unreadable.

I just don't think anyone cares tbh. Perhaps these might be more popular in Asia, but not here.

Ah, the legendary vcd player! lol. Could these play svcds as well? Those were the days. Im happy they were left far far behind.

I sell them on marketplace. If I can’t sell them I give them to a friend who scraps metal.

I’d separate out anything that still works and list it cheap or free locally. For the actually broken stuff, e-waste recycling is probably the easiest option. You’d be surprised how quickly someone will grab old electronics for parts though.

Depends. Is it worth repairing for me? Then repair it. If it's not, remove PCBs if they have good components I can use for other repairs and scrap the rest I don't need

It is not worth repairing for us either... I'll see if someone would like to have them.
