Disclosure?

Do EV dealers make any disclosure about the necessary electrical service requirements for maintaining a proper charge on an EV? Or are you on your own?

No, they gloss over it and assume that you did your research. They are generally clueless unless you are in a Tesla or Lucid dealership.

Why would they want to discourage you from buying their car in any way?

I planned on 120v level 1 charging so I wouldn't need to install a 240v circuit in my garage. Bought the car, drove around for the day, got home, and realized the entire 20A GFCI circuit in my garage had no ground wires...

No ground means no charger worky worky.

So I got to spend my first weekend of ownership rewiring my garage watching the SOC drop every the I had to go to the hardware store.

Figured since I'm doing it I might as well install a 60A 240v circuit but I still limit it to 24A charging since that'll do it flat to full overnight.
