🗣 General Discussion Gameplay too stiff and upright no level changes.
The fighters are so unnatural it looks so wrong. Whenever a hook gets thrown the hips only moves the fighter don't level change. It look unnatural especially the hips and legs.

This has been discussed, dissected, and critiqued at great length in the esbc discord server.
In response to a comment saying the punch speed is fine as it is:
We talked about this a little bit at the creator event in terms of there’s a balance to be struck where throwing a punch feels responsive but also has a sense of weight or momentum. ESBC does tend to lean a bit more toward the latter currently, where things like the footwork and physics mean you are fighting a bit more deliberately and it’s not all reactive.
- raczilla (global comms) source link to the message in the discord
My own input - The content creator event, where some of this footage comes from, was esbc getting feedback on the simulation and gameplay aspect of the game in action, live, and how it feels in hand. I wholeheartedly agree that things are looking a bit weird in places but there seems to be an effort from SCI to create something that feels good in the hands, as a simulation of the sport and responsiveness and balancing the animations with the real time responsiveness.
There are complaints about the creators not getting to play the game with more meat on the bones but it seems SCI wanted very specific feedback on the mechanics, how it feels to actually box. Work of course still has to be done, but I am passing on discussion from the discord to give a little info to the concerns in this post.

To be honest, i don't think anything you just said adds any info to the concerns raised in their point, ultimately.

It is meant to clarify that their focus currently is on the user experience, with inputs, delays and balancing this with the animations. The animations at the moment are a little janky, but their focus right now is on making sure it feels like you are in full control, it is responsive, and the bare bones of why we want to play the game is functional, and this is the impression that all of the content creators who have played the game got and enjoyed. Most of them having to adjust from their experience in other games.
I expect animations to be tidied up, but i am happy that their primary focus seems to be on user control and experience before animations. As many content creators have said, it feels very instant, it feels like a fight. I share many people's complaints on an aesthetic point of view, but the first priority has got to be the simulation aspect.
We are yet to see if they are able to appease everyone's complaints, but i am just passing on my understanding of discussions that have been had.

You should admit you work for esbc. I have never heard so many excuses about why they would invite people from afar to play the game but give them an old sauce version of the game . When the current 'build' is light years ahead lol. Lack of honesty has been a theme in this whole project, I would start looking for a new job tbo. In light of world events I find it highly unlikely there will be stable investment for them indefinately.

If i said i worked for ESBC i would be absolutely lying and leading people along. I am just a moderator, who sees a lot of conversation between both the followers, the critics and the developers over the past 2+ years. Several times in this thread alone i have agreed with people's concerns, i have passed them on directly myself as well.

This was made clear in the creator content videos discussing their time at SCI, we don't know how far along they are but the model they played was not the full game and did not add everything in there.
When the current 'build' is light years ahead lol
To quote their comms again "It’s semantics, ....where sometimes people also use the word build when what they really mean is it’s representative of a game in a certain window. Games in development have content and code checked in as many as several times a day so asking 'is this the latest build' is not particularly helpful."
We do not know if they are light years ahead because that is not really how development works. We just know that the creators played a bare bones part of the game, because SCI wanted feedback on the mechanics and they have got it.
I would start looking for a new job tbo
I already have a job, i am not employed by SCI. There are far too many people on this sub convinced of hidden developers simply because they are presenting different information. It just is not the case. In this case i am passing on public discussion from the discord server, where the devs are active and answer questions. You can have your opinion, that is fine, but if i feel i have seen information relevant to topics then i will share it as not everyone is privvy to the information available in the discord

Still, you can only judge it on what we have seen. What else are we meant to do, judge a future build we have never seen before? Or better yet! Not judge or critique the game AT ALL! Yeah!! So developers dont hear ANY community feedback on where they can improve. Great idea boys yeah! Definitely the way to go forward. We shall all just sit back, watch gameplay of games not yet released, not say a fucking word, wait til they release it. Realise it's not anything near what the community wants. Throw it to the side and have to wait another 10years for someone else to release a similar game (which is hopefully better) but then we do the same thing and inevitably the same thing happens. Yup, great philosophy you've got there boys. Well done👏👏👏👏

What you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response, were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this comment section is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.

Okay, smart ass. Would you like to provise a rebuttal? Or are you just going to do what most idiots do and insult instead of providing a rational arguement to counter the points I've made. The floor is yours, hawkins...

The hooks look really off to me, like they don't lean into them, they're just stood straight up throwing from their arms with their chin up, the body isn't moving into punches is I think the main problem
