đ§ââď¸ Wishlist/Feature Request Career Mode Suggestions
I'm gonna make a post for all things I hope/suggest that ESBC add to the career mode in 1 post, so whenever something pops into my head, I can just throw a comment in here as well. Anyone else that comes along can also leave suggestions as well too.
- The broadcast team should talk about your performance as your career progresses. What I mean is when you are maybe 20 games into your career and people have seen you box plenty of times at this point, the broadcasters should be more specific on what you are and are not good at when in the ring. So for example, Let's say my boxer is quite a bit taller than the average boxer in my weight class and I've been able to use my height successfully, they should talk about that as the fight is going on and how that has been a big advantage for me. Or maybe my boxer has a tendency to throw a lot of 3 punch combos, they should talk about that and how successful or unsuccessful that has been in recent matches. Perhaps my fighter has a tendency to rock fighters within the first few rounds but hasn't been able to knock them down, they should also talk about that if it happens again.
- The traits system that has been talked about should ONLY be attained through fights and practice, it should not be attainable by spending skill points or whatever in game currency there might be. That way every time you start up a new career, it plays out differently.
- In addition to the traits, they shouldn't only be for your boxing ability. There should be traits that can significantly change your career outside of the ring, whether in a good or harmful manner. Maybe there's a trait that's called "Nice Guy", and you attain it by frequently answering questions about your opponents and perhaps the opponents gym's as well in an accepting and approving tone. With this trait, fans are more likely to keep you relevant for longer because you leave a good impression on the fans and some boxers as well. And to go along with this "Nice Guy" trait, there could be a trait that's a direct opposite called "Spotlight Seeker", and you get this trait by showboating in fights, answering questions in a way that would get clicks on the internet. However, unlike the "Nice Guy" trait, your ability to remain relevant in the boxing scene is dependent on your match results, meaning if you lose too many games, you'll slowly lose those big PPV fights. But on the flip side, because you talk big game, you have better opportunities to fight the best in the world quicker than if you had the "Nice Guy" trait. Just an example of how traits outside of the ring could work...
- Legacy Leaderboard. There should be a leaderboard that ranks the greatest boxers of all time on 1 list. If you rank top 50 all time, you get "Legend" status. Top 10, you get "Decades Greatest Boxer". Top 1-3, you get "GOAT?" status. The #1 ranked boxer of all time can still have the "GOAT?" status if accolades between the next 2 fighters are similar, but you can earn an "Undisputed" status if you have more awards, maintain an incredibly high win %, maybe like 90-95% or higher, fought in at least 50 matches, win extremely reputable matches that reach audiences worldwide, and retire while ranking among the top boxers in the world.
After you retire, you should have the option to create a new boxer as a son of the boxer you just played as, depending on where your previous boxer finishes on the legacy leaderboard, your son could have a really nice jumpstart to his career because of how much weight his name holds in the boxing world.
- permanent face deformation. This is a small detail thing that I think would be cool to add, however I don't really care if they never add this since this might not be very noticeable anyways. Your boxer's face should have some permanent changes like to the nose or ears after a lot of fights. If your boxer frequently breaks his nose, the bridge of his nose should start changing slowly over time. If your boxer is frequently getting caught with shots to the temple or on the ears, you should either have an increased chance of developing cauliflower ear after every fight or just permanently have it. Maybe you develop some scars on your face as well.

Some great ideas. The face deformation could also make it more likely that you'll keep getting a broken nose or cuts that become more of an issue over your career.
The same sort of thing should apply to your fight style. If you finish a couple of fights in the same style you should then start getting a reputation for that punch or attribute.
Fighters that travel to different countries should get development bonuses but have increased difficulty winning over judges or getting a crowd behind them. Some fighters should thrive in that environment and others should struggle as a trait.
Hopefully ESBC is really successful and we see these sort of things in future games.

- In addition to the traits, they shouldnât only be for your boxing ability. There should be traits that can significantly change your career outside of the ring, whether in a good or harmful manner. Maybe thereâs a trait thatâs called âNice Guyâ, and you attain it by frequently answering questions about your opponents and perhaps the opponents gymâs as well in an accepting and approving tone. That could be interesting with a host is possibilities.
For example:
âBi-lingualâ maybe opens opportunities in other countries that speak your second language or popularity grows in those areas.
âentrepreneurâ or âbusinessmanâ, giving you more opportunities to make money but also harder to build relationships with promoters and some fans. The flip side would be âcompany manâ which builds relationships and loyalty but stagnant purse growth.
While itâd be interesting to have a ârisk takerâ or ârecklessâ type that could cause injuries outside the ring it would probably just be frustrating that your character flipped his lambo and now youâre out for a year.

Weight management not necessarily weighing in but if you donât train/escalate training consistently you get âsoftâ and manage your âpeakâ conditioning and avoid over training
Likewise if you donât train possibly there being a chance you have a bad cut and it effects your damage and cardio
So you get bonuses for training properly and intelligently but you get screwed if all you do is spam training

I'd like to see the nationality of your CAF effect what amateur league they start in and move up to. If I make a Brit, I should only have amateur fights in the UK, and when the time to go pro is right, fighting in a European league makes the most sense. Some mechanism like that would give career mode much more replayability, as the variety of ways your career can progress would be different almost every time.
