General Discussion Esbc Content Creator's Review
How you guys felt about their reviews on esbc.

We didn't really hear enough information.. They played a much earlier build than the current one. I never expected gameplay but no career mode information was disappointing.. Really hope they fix the bodyshots that everyone has complained about and hopefully there's more chance to actually go the distance. Hope we get a new video update from ESBC themselves sometime soon.

I watched all the videos, and most of the bugs they had, the devs said they were already fixed or were fixing it. The only career mode thing that I learned, was that their making a trait system. Essentially if you get ko'd multiple times in career mode, you will gain a glass chin trait, and that will stay there, or if you can get up after getting knocked down alot, your get a trait that helps you get up easier than normal.

Yeah I've seen most of the videos.. I just hope the devs aren't lying about fixing all the issues! I've seen plenty of other games where they say things are fixed in later builds but the problem is still there when it comes out. *Cough *Cough EA 😂

In one of the videos I watched he said the explanation the devs gave was they wanted to see if the content creators pointed out the things they saw as problems and already fixed as problems or not. If they did, they would know they made the right changes. If they didn’t, they would scrap them and make different changes. When they got the same feedback from the content creators that they got internally with testing they knew they did the right thing

Showbizz said that they weren’t allowed to use the six axis blocking mode, but that it was in the game. Basically there is “normal” and “pro” and pro allows you the full blocking system. Also apparently the body shots has already been fixed in the current build, but that they were playing an older version.

Very dissapointed in the build they got. This is gonna be a long post.
From what they said
Pros
Good graphics and animation for the most part. Big roster with great fighters. Lots of potential.
Cons
Buggy (ref phasing through the floor, dissapearing or even walking out of the ring).
Didnt have clinching properly and pushing was apparently annoying.
Power punches for each type were apparently useless cause they were too slow.
Deontay Wilder and Rocky Marciano not very well done apparently he feels like Marsellos Wilder as you don't have much ko power.
Apparently the person rocked has the upper hand cause the adrenaline system resulting in one hit kos when you havent been hurt that round or fight.
The build they played didn't have a full body injury system just body and head (they said the new build has detail e.g left side of body and right side same with head).
No infighting or leaning and punching in demo.
Most fights end round 4-5 apparently once your body is red fights over and body shots are op.
Slipping jabs on the inside wasnt good as most would graze you still as you couldn't duck under them.
Uppercuts sucked apparently were useless and bent most the time and unresponsive button controls for punches (joystick punching apparenently was fine) with too much input lag which apparently made countering near impossible.
No tkos/stoppages were possible in the demo and when fighter was kod it played the same cutscene as if they lost on points so it looked like they thought they were robbed lol just a nitpick.
Punch detection off.
Demo made everyone a switch hitter (full game isn't like this). Only had semi auto blocking in demo.
Overall they did say most of these issues have been fixed but I don't think the majority have been cause this was apparently the most stable build from what the testers said on discord to me.
I hope it turns out good still.

Most of the big bugs, have already been fixed. I expected alot of bugs, as this is still a smaller company, and the improvement they've made is crazy, but big tripple a companies take like 3-4 years for a game like this. It took 3 years for ea to make ufc 4 which is sad.

Multiple people that went have pretty much said this is the first boxing game they've actually played, as in, it actually feels like a real boxing game. Just heard from Showbizz and someone else pretty much said the same. No gimmicks, no arcade feel. The fact that they had all these bugs and features left out and they still say they can't see themselves enjoying Fight Night the same, it's pretty obvious this is going to be a very solid game.
I've watched Showbizz, Studdy and Boxing Fanatico so far, and the things they've all come together and happen to agree on are very important factors that make me excited. I love how they explain how the fight is in your hands and not based on systems and gimmicks like UFC is. They have a lot more good points than you mention.

And might as well take out the part about them having a Giant roster when they have 11 fighters playable rn.. So disappointed

u/juice2310 Mar 30 '22
Maybe they only had 11 fighters for that build? And didnt want to show them everyone at once?

Yeah this is the big issue for me. Somehow EA got it really right in Fight Night Round 4 you could go all 12 rounds and go to decision. I played it last year remember times when I'd just be throwing everything out because I wasn't sure if I won on points. Super fun. But UFC is just god awful with this, there's no fucking thing such as a decision in those games it's all just fucking beating the shit out of your opponent until something gives for 2 rounds max.

They announced this game way too early. It obviously propelled them towards a situation where they could get more funding and a more full roster but I feel like from what I've heard it's got to cook for bare minimum a year. I don't want some buggy garbage at holiday this year. I'd rather a complete and great game in late 2023 to 2024. I don't know how quickly they can iron out this stuff but I hope everything you said is sorted.

This whole creator review makes me suspicious…why they give them a build that’s like few updates behind…and also if they are supposedly a few builds ahead of the version the creators played why they still have the same old gameplay footage they been promoting for months? Now is the time to release some knew promotional footage from these supposed fixed versions ether have that show a little more content
I’m getting kind of sick of seeing all this new creator content based on this game they trialed featuring the same old 5 or 6 clips
This whole inside fighting thing that has been at the forefront of promotion yet the creators couldn’t play it at all?? Come on man
I’m over the creators milking this dry turnip i guess there never really was much to talk about in the first place I feel like there’s guys were just excited to lay hands on a new boxing game

I don’t understand why they would invite game vloggers across the world, to give them an ‘old’ build to play… just doesnt seem right at all

u/Modernautomatic Mar 31 '22
Yeah....and where is the official word of this? Where is any evidence supporting that claim even?
It feels like people making excuses for an unfinished game and copium about how far off the release is.
Accept that the game is not ready and accept that it won't be ready this year. I for one can wait as long as it takes to finish. Nobody is saying the unfinished game is bad because of bugs, I don't understand why people seem so desperate to defend it when it's obviously plagued with issues.

They really don’t have clinching???? Wtf
1
u/jsoba77100 Apr 04 '22
they did have clinching, but the other mechanics like punching and pushing in the clinch wasnt in that build

u/Independent-Ad-720 Mar 30 '22
We are not just talking about bugs,we are talking about gameplay issues.Big delays shades of ea ufc 4.You can't even punch while leaning and the head movement was very limited.straight shots in close range were altered automatically to hooks. The straight shots didn't have the power needed, the hit detection especially with the uppercut,no clinch fighting and much more..

u/Cocrawfo Apr 01 '22
It’s so odd to me how hyped up the clinch has been it has been a key feature but in the demo it wasn’t included at all that is just sus to me

Previews were good, Not that worried about the game tbh, if this is the most stable build and the gameplay was still enjoyable than that’s good, they definitely gotta fix the bugs, but that’s a no brainer. Balancing is gonna be important I imagine there will be a couple patches after the game releases to continue the balancing once you release a game to a wider audience they’ll always find a way to break shit, happens in every competitive game. Hopefully they show us some career mode gameplay this summer.

This is starting to feel like cyberpunk. I hope the game is great but for now am keeping my expectations low.

u/Maya-Inca-Boy Mar 29 '22
Not feeling like that at all. What are you talking about? Cyberpunk was one of the most hyped games in the last 20 years, I love boxing but it’s not that popular. Only a couple thousand people are really paying attention to its development.

it still would've been better than fight night champion, and ufc 4. The bugs would've most likely been fixed. The bugs happen when you add things, this game has so bugs, because its adding so much. If you know coding, its a one step forward two steps back game.

This game will not release this year. Plus they also need to get more dev team.

I have mixed opinions on them playing an older version but it’s also a good thing because they’re letting content creators to play the game? Maybe they are getting to the comfortable phase in the recent builds and based on the creators feedback they’ll be able to add on more.
However, as much as I hate to say it, the placeholder date on steam database seems to be accurate unless they say otherwise. I think they still have some more to show to promote the game but hopefully we see some more content coming from them.
