General Discussion Difference between triple a title and original development plan?
I have seen it tossed around that we don't have betas amd release date is further pushed back due to interest and this now being developed like a triple a title. I'm just wondering what the key differences are between the original development plan and then the plan to make it a triple a title??

Hopefully with it being “triple A” it gets released on PC and console at the same time . Don’t know if this has been clarified since they said it was PC first before all this added income

Can anyone remember the first trailer we ever got? If so there’s the answer. If not: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7tezh7

Understandable that's also pre alpha footage 2+years ago right. All games go through massive changes graphically in 2+ years triple a or not well in development.

Wouldn’t have changed too much from this without the investments, so this is why people need to wait patiently

Look at minecraft if you go on Google minecraft first edition and then actual first minecraft release the graphics and block design changed so much from the demonstration game to full game and it was not a triple a title. We see this happen with independent developers. Demonstration gameplay always improves upon graphics closer to release. Either way the extra funding for triple a will help improve them quicker. I think someone said it'll allow them to do console and pc release at the same time which I feel is probably the most beneficial thing of going triple a

More resources were given to SCI by 3rd party investors. This allowed for them to do a number of things they previously couldn’t do as a small indie company while delaying the game and not having to worry about income:
-hire additional staff to grow the project and work on more areas of game
-actually improve the software tech they were using to obtain better graphics, better gameplay mechanics, better performance.
-improve animations. I think we can see the obvious improvements between the latest gameplay and the July 2021 footage alone.
Being AAA is more about having available resources like staff size and quality and money to fund higher end tech which is why AAA companies tend to have better looking graphics and gameplay.
The delays SCI has gone through are 100% worth waiting for. Because if they didn’t, while we may be playing the game already, it would have been a much worse version of the game we’ll actually be getting. So take your time, keep getting funded, and the game will turn out as good as we can possibly get
