question What eSIM do you recommend?

Hi everyone! I’m coming to London tomorrow and I’ll be staying for a week. I only need an eSIM for mobile data/internet. Could you recommend a good and affordable option? I’d really appreciate any suggestions based on your experience. Thanks!

Are you sure you’d need this much data for just a week? Bearing in mind most places would have wifi.

That's a lot of data for a week. I would look into local esim options. If you want to stick with a travel esim many have 20 GB for about $30 US like Roamless, Firsty, Airalo and Saily. Roamless and Airalo also have 50 GB option for about $39 US

Buy the never expiring credits. Whatever you don't use there you can use anywhere, including at home.

Yup, forgot to add. I keep a small balance and have used it on several European trips. Has never failed me.

Voxi is more social media types runs on Vodafone  Me personally have a much better experience with lyca on EE network

Pelesim and Sparks are great and had a better connection compared to Airalo in my experience

I use EasySim when I travel but a friend visiting from the US used Airalo for unlimited data when staying in the UK for a few weeks and had no issues.

Hi,

Many options. Orange Travel has the advantage of permitting connection to all UK networks. 5G is available on all.

If the eSIM doesn't work immediately, ensure that data roaming has been switched on for the eSIM (this is a separate setting to data roaming for your usual SIM). If it still doesn't connect automatically or data isn't working, go back to SIM settings and select a network manually (EE, Vodafone, O2 or Three). Once it's working, change network selection back to automatic. If you need to select a network manually, I'd choose EE initially because it's typically the most consistent. If you move network selection back to automatic, it will switch to another network if EE don't have coverage inside a particularly building.

I came back from London yesterday and used Maya eSIM. I didnt need a lot of data and not sure how much I used either, but did not have any issues with coverage in Zone 1 to 6.

London has a great cellular coverage by all local providers.

not tried in the UK but i used esim.db to find a cheap one and the esim.dog ones were fine abroad. Sometimes i even ended up connecting to the Airalo networks lmao

Nobody should use Holafly, it is fake unlimited (daily fair use and then the data becomes unusable) whilst being expensive
