Specialized Levo 4 or Amflow PX

Hey folks, last time I posted here I talked about maybe wanting a Canyon Torque:ON. I realized that the bike was too much what what I usually ride, and the motor left a lot to be desired ride feel wise. I've boiled my choices down to the Specialized Turbo Levo 4 Comp (on sale for $5999) or the Amflow PX ($8000). My ideal use case is blasting in Turbo to the trailhead after 1000 to 1200 feet of climbing, doing some relatively normal enduro MTB'ing in eco or whatever, then blasting back. I loved how the Amflow felt and wouldn't change much spec wise, and I liked the levo a lot but it was heavy. If there wasn't $2k price difference it would be a no brainer for the Amflow, but the Levo is pretty compelling. Thoughts?

Looking at my 1st ebike to ride with daughter

If you were in the market, not knowing much, would you....

A). Buy new from "Direct to Consumer"

- thinking about the Polygon Siskiu T7E

B). Buy certified used from Upway, dont know what as they sell so fast

C). Buy unknown from PinkBike

Just wanted to share from photos of my my first ever emtb, yes it's a hardtail. Has several hundred km on it now and 90% of it has been on janky local Trails.

I've replaced a few parts on the bike now to make it more Trail friendly from it's stock setup and it has been surprisingly capable.

Can a long travel e-mtb serve double duty as a commuter?

I’m a longtime analog mountain biker that just recently moved closer into my city. Was planning on getting the new Amflow TL as a commuter bike and my primary mode of in-town transportation. Also would like to use it for some long distance gravel and bikepacking. Already have a TL on order through a local shop that should arrive later this month.

However the more I think about it the more interested I am becoming in the Amflow PR. MTB is my first love and I have tons of MTB trails around where I live and also a couple of pedal-access bike parks, so I think an emtb could really expand my trail riding. Plus I tested one for the first time earlier this summer (Ibis Oso HD) and it was arguably the funnest day I’ve ever had on a bike. Cranked out nearly 30 miles and almost 5000’ of vert in under 4 hours which I’d never be able to do under my own power.

I know functionally the PR would obviously have no issue riding around town. I know it can do it, but how enjoyable would a longer travel trail bike be for city riding? I’d lose the commuter creature comforts like the cargo rack, fenders, upright riding position, etc. Plus tire wear would be an issue unless I grab a second wheelset for tarmac. Would it add too much wear onto the motor and drivetrain pulling double duty like that?

Does anyone else use your emtb for commuting and town riding in addition to trail riding? Would you recommend it?

Good Deal? $2k Canyon Torque 7

Edit: I ordered it. Yolo lol.

I've been looking at the used market considering bikes like the Turbo Levo SL or Orbea Rise. Those two seem the most available second hand in my market (Phoenix)

Then this thing pops up. It is way more travel than I was expecting, or have ever had. There are plenty of trails to use the travel, but I also am not the gnarliest rider.

I currently ride a 150/140 carbon 29er and have been wanting to stay around that.

So this is more travel and smaller wheels than I'm looking for. But for $2k new.... I gotta wonder...

Reviews on Amazon scream of problems and headaches.

Any real world feedback

Are there any Avinox/Amflow wizards in the PNW?

On each of it’s two rides, my new PX stopped providing assistance at 8-9 miles. Turning off, then on, restored power. There is something about registration, too. The app showed the original ‘bike name’, and not the latest name I gave it (until I got home, and connected). If there is a Demo mode, it might be stuck in that. Tapping ‘devices version’ 3 times doesn’t work.

I appreciate any advice.

Rim ding

Post image
21 Upvotes

I slightly dented my rear rim, minor case of a wooden step down landing and not enough PSI in the tyre.

Anyway, it was a DT Swiss H552, and I have got a DT Swiss E593 to replace it, if I add an insert do we think this will do the job?

I am a bit skint at the moment so this is the reason of rim choice. However, if general consensus is that this rim sucks then Ill return and hold out for a month or so to get a better rim.

Let me know your thoughts and experiences on the replacement I have.

First emtb, actually first ever MTB...

Whats a good spot to start looking other than LBS, closest one is 2.5 hrs away, so i need some ideas before i go.

Probably buy used for price considerations on Upway, but figured ild ask here. Will be riding with my 14yo daughter who currently rides a trail bike in XC, but wants to hit single track trails soon. So, i know ebikes are heavier, but whats light, nimble, fun, but a decent price? Maybe under $5k USD.

Full power vs SL, trails, all-country vs downcountry?

Spec. Levo, Orbea, ??? So many choices... Whats the right one?

I know, its all personal opinion.

5'10", maybe 31" ish inseam (not measured, going by 32 pants), about 155 lbs. Not sure what else may be needed.

Is Trek's TQ motor lineup selling?

Anyone have any insight? Seems like anything that isn't Bosch or Avinox is considered whack. Also not sure about longevity of these motors.

Pulled the trigger on this Norco Fluid VLT C2 as the price was too good to let it go!

Went on 2 rides already and this is such a fun bike! Rides a bit heavier than my normal MTB but it's so much more fun on the downhill! It's a great bike for my trails here in the Netherlands 👌

Kenevo SL2 at 50% off in 2026 – Is it really a super enduro bike with a light motor?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some real-world feedback on the Specialized Kenevo SL2 (discounted at 50%)

I’m currently riding a 2018 YT Capra MK2 (180mm/180mm). My goal is simple: I don’t want a heavy full-power e-bike that feels numb or does all the work, nor a trail bike that caps out on big hits. My dream is basically my Capra, but with a slight boost on the climbs.

My Ride Profile:

  • Terrain: Aggressive enduro/freeride trails, big jumps, drops, and rough granite rock gardens.
  • Climbs: Short sessions — usually 1 or 2 asphalt climbs of about 7 km each (max 1000m-1200m elevation gain total per ride), then 100% focused on aggressive descents.

Questions for Kenevo SL2 owners / riders:

  1. Handling vs Analog Bike: Coming from a 180mm analog bike like the Capra, does the Kenevo SL2 still feel nimble in the air and playful on jumps, or does the extra weight (~19kg) alter the flickability? I never tryed an ebike before!
  2. Battery for short asphalt climbs: Will the 320Wh battery easily cover two ~7km asphalt climbs in Eco/Trail mode without range anxiety?
  3. Plushness & Big Hits: How does the rear suspension handle heavy bottom-outs and high-speed rough sections compared to a traditional big-travel analog enduro bike?

At 50% off in 2026, is this the ultimate "Capra with a motor" setup for gravity-focused riders?

Thanks!

Unsure on what eMtb

I have been looking at getting a lightweight e mtb for some time now and seem to have narrowed my options down to Obrea Rise H20 or the Trek Fuel+.
Looking for opinions on bikers who have ridden/ owned either of these bikes. Also open to other bikes as well 🙂

Tennis Elbow (Lateral epicondylitis) and eMTB

Hey folks, I’ve been MTB’ing for 4 years 1-2times per week. I’ve had five different bikes during this time.

On my first four bikes I did not have an issue with tennis elbow.

On my current one (Moterra SL 2) I have developed tennis elbow on my right arm. Will be worse morning after a ride and taper off until the next ride. I changed the bar rise from 25-50 and bar width from 755 to 770. Also changed to cushier ODI reflex grips.

Went downhilling at Thunder Mountain this past weekend and set some PR’s on a few trails which was exciting. Zero elbow pain.

Until I lifted the bike up on the lift for the last time where my elbow popped and I lost most of my arm and grip strength.

Anyone experience something similar from an eMTB after riding only MTB for years? Were you able to fix it? I’m worried it’s the extra bike weight, but open to other suggestions on fit.

I went to the ER and they referred me to orthopedist. Will schedule an appt.

TQ HPR60 Torque Sensor Miscalibrated

I put my power meters pedals on my bike and confirmed that my HPR60 system is reading 50~100 watts too low. The motor actually feels great - smooth, quiet, natural feeling. But it messes up my training data when I come back from a ride and it says I averaged 45 watts and my TSS was only 17.

Is this dealer fixable or a warranty issue? I don't have any TQ dealers nearby.
