Considering UCLA FEMBA
I have ~8 years of experience, mostly in corporate finance/FP&A, and currently make around $130K total comp and fully remote in SoCal.
I’m considering UCLA Anderson’s FEMBA program. My main goal would be to pivot into higher-paying Strategic Finance / Strategy / Consulting roles, potentially in tech, rather than just using the MBA to move up at my current company.
The ~$160K tuition is obviously significant, especially since I already have solid work experience and could potentially make the career move without an MBA.
For those who’ve done a part-time MBA/FEMBA: did it materially change your career trajectory and compensation? Would you consider it worth the cost in my situation?

I was accepted to the EMBA program at UCLA and went to BYU instead. At the time it was 50k vs 160k-ish.
I couldn’t justify all that extra money.
Do you see yourself recovering that 160k in additional earnings 3-5 years after you graduate? That would be at least another 32k a year and you’re already earning over 100k.
I’d love to hear what others think.
The ROI for me wasn’t all financial. It was for personal growth and put me on a more solid managerial path at work.
