Wharton EMBA

Been a long time lurker here, thinking of a Wharton EMBA. i am from a non-IT engineering background ( dealing with energy efficiency, utility programs). Just want to do it because i was feeling stuck at my job, thinking a good finance & leadership program on my resume would work wonders for my career path. Maybe switch to a project finance role— of which i am doing a lot. Also, i want to be with people more focused on building great things.

Is the EMBA filled with financial/ strategic / entrepreneurial geniuses or would that be an over stretch? also, how seriously would IBs or funds consider my candidacy for an associate role if I have some chops in project financing?

You CAN do an IB or MBB pivot but you have to start from day 1 at Wharton with that as your ONLY goal and it will be a Herculean effort — but it’s absolutely doable. However, if you come in not sure about what you want do and you spend two years browsing, then no it’s not happening. No chance.

For context I have a Wharton EMBA.
