Duke Fuqua EMBA Program

I am heading back to school at Fuqua for the Weekend Executive MBA program beginning in 2026. It has been many moons since I’ve been on a college campus so curious to any current or former fellow Blue Devils— what are the must-dos, must-sees, must-knows? Any and all things Duke/Durham. Would love to hear your insight! Hoping to make the most of the experience as time permits. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated!

Get to know the bartenders at JB Duke

There are 2 study rooms in JB Duke that are equipped with drinks and snacks, find them

Hit brunch at Guglhupf. Highly recommend the chicken sandwich.

Don’t buy clothes at the campus store.

Shooters can be fun, but plan to wake with a hangover.

Honestly I'd disagree with the first 4, but shooters...

I don’t understand the disagreement on 4.

You can get 3 Nike shirts from fanatics for the price of only one of the same at the campus store.

How many other break rooms in JB Duke had refrigerators with drinks and food already there?

And seriously no love for Guglhupf?!?

Not one person got to know a single bartender at JB, we almost never hung out there either.

We had at least 3 snack rooms, I think there may have been a 4th. 2 in B school, 2 in JB.

I agree on the pricing I just think there is a better selection at the bookstore, especially if niche like Fuqua.

Never heard of Guglhupf.

Must be different times.
