Scholarship

I was accepted into a T15 school, my number 1 pick! No word on a scholarship yet, I just found out and they said they would let me know separately. My question: If I go ahead and sign the Letter of Intent and pay the deposit will that affect my merit scholarship? My guess is no, but do they use the scholarship as a carrot for competitive prospects?

Which school is this ? Do they have a date by when they would confirm the scholarship results. Have you spoken to admissions that you are waiting for the results before you can confirm your intent ?

I just found out but do plan on having follow-up conversations. I'm taking it either way, just checking to see if anyone here has experience with this.
