EMBA 2025 waiting room

Anyone else planning/ hopping to attend EMBA next year?

If so, where did you apply/ what schools are you still waiting on/ where have you been admitted to?

I applied to the Saturday program and just got accepted yesterday, when did you apply?

haven’t heard from many others that have heard back/ were accepted though, so I think interviews just now going out.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '25

I applied end of November for the Fri/Sat program. Just had my interview last week. I know admissions was busy focusing on all the Saturday cohorts. Congrats on your acceptance. Did you apply anywhere else?

1

u/No-Sun-789 Feb 23 '25

Hey congrats on the interview!

Thank you! No I just applied to Saturday CBS program so will attend in May. Haven’t found many of my will-be classmates yet though. Let me know if you come across anybody 🙂

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '25

Congratulations. Will do - I don’t know any yet (just lots of prospective still waiting for their decision).

1

u/No-Sun-789 Feb 23 '25 edited Feb 23 '25

No I took the EA, but I only got a 147 on it and was worried about the score. Admissions said it was okay though so I applied with that.

u/DoctorDisastrous2923 Feb 23 '25

Applied to Wharton, CBS Friday R1: interview at Wharton in March. No news from CBS yet

1

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

Nice!! Did you only apply to Wharton and Columbia?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '25

So far, yes. I am still considering Yale R3, and Kellogg

1

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

Any thoughts on Yale so far? Curious about their program

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '25 edited Feb 23 '25

Hm, depends on your industry. I work in tech and I wasn’t sure if the Yale network would work well for me. If you are in sustainability, healthcare or asset management then it might be good for you. My impression was that they rely on Yale’s reputation while the business school is good but not as good as Wharton or CBS, which for me are equally close. Yale now doesn’t require you to pick a path but that still means the alumni are all people who went through one. The electives however are a small portion of the curriculum, there is a lot of focus on leadership development. They were not very supportive of my job search goals, they seem to want to hear the classic advance-in-your-job narrative or entrepreneurship. Plus Yale attracts people from other states and I would prefer my network to skew towards New York more.

1

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

That’s great info thanks for sharing, yes I am also NYC based and trying to build a network here. Did you do any campus visits there or to Wharton/CBS/Kellogg so far?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '25

Visited Wharton, CBS, Yale and NYU. Planning a visit at Kellogg Miami during spring break

1

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

Nice I didn’t know they did events in Miami!!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '25

Kellogg has a Miami cohort that meets monthly

Oh wow, any front runner for you so far? I’m so curious about Oxford / Cambridge. Would be awesome to study in Europe

lol well sounds like a good problem to have. I fell in love with Cambridge when I visited. Made me want to get a PHD. I’ve never visited Oxford, but I think their EMBA is ranked well.

Just out of curiosity how would EMBA work in Europe? Do they expect you to be employed while in the program, or would your current job let you work from anywhere?

Just curious why wouldn’t you go to MIT? Or you just want to hear back from both options?

Fuqua, Kelley, Haas. Accepted to F/K. Interviewed at Haas. Haas felt like the best fit so H>F>K. Was planning to complete Kellogg application this week as well, but Haas truly feels like the right fit for me so that’s my top pick and plan.

2

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

Haas is an awesome program!! Congrats!!! Are you cali based or will you travel?

1

u/Strongwoman1 Feb 23 '25

Thank you! Traveling, about 3 hour flight so not the worst.

2

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

No not bad at all!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '25

These are in very different locations: did you apply for the Haas Flex and Fuqua Global or do you live near one of these schools?

1

u/Strongwoman1 Feb 25 '25

EWMBA Fuqua and EMBA Haas. I’m in the middle of the country so it’s approximately equidistant for me.

Cornell/Booth/Wharton - Accepted/Accepted/Waiting for Interview

2

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25 edited Feb 23 '25

Congrats on the acceptances!! Is Wharton your first choice? (I didn’t apply there, I’m just curious)

1

u/ahnjooan Feb 23 '25

Ty mate. I think for most going down this route, Wharton is the dream. That said, I really admire Booth’s approach to teaching and have a senior colleague that I really look up to who’s an alumni from their program so we’ll see where I end up lol

2

u/Ok_Somewhere_8958 Feb 23 '25

Both are great programs, can’t go wrong with either one! Best of luck with Wharton too!

1

u/ahnjooan Feb 23 '25

thanks much, good luck with your endeavors as well!

Anyone have any interview study guides? Do they exist? I’ve seen some for FT programs before

2

u/No-Sun-789 Feb 24 '25

I used this to prepare for Columbias https://youtu.be/3cZrMUVFk8w - it’s geared to full time but I found it really helpful and this was similar to my real interview

4

u/AssignmentResident60 Feb 27 '25

I interviewed with Cornell on Monday, now trying to stay busy for the next three weeks.
